It's an important intelligent test. Rhinos and the like wouldn't even recognise it as a rhino. While monkeys would view it as rival monkey.

But if you paint a chimp's forehead while it sleeps and then show it a mirror, it'll know to clean it's head.

Yeah, it may not know that it's is looking at itself, but it would recognise it as 'another' magpie.
