Scratched my balls after working in fibreglass insulation all day and they were itchy as [Poor language removed].

Another toughie today Jock? How much longer you there for lid?

Cable running is a ballache pal. Can take hours just to run a couple of Cat 5's because you need to go through transit blocks in watertight bulkheads and they can be a bitch to get out.

Plus all the dust and fibreglass in the void spaces is minging. takes me about 45 minutes in the shower when I get back to get properly clean.

Building the antenna tomorrow, and it's one I've not worked before so it'll be interesting at least.

What's your job Jocko?

I'm a field service technician for a satellite communications company, specifically VSAT installations.

Basically, I install, maintain and repair phones and internet for ships and rigs worldwide. We also dabble in CCTV systems but very rarely. Mostly it's just comms. It's about an even mix between maritime (ships) and energy (rigs) but I deffo prefer the ships. If they're in the harbour when you're working on them, it normally means a hotel stay.

Good job, loads of travel but f*cking hard graft when your on a job. I don't do less than 12 hour days, normally it's at least 14-15 hours.

This is who I work for, if you're bored enough to have a read, it says what we provide on there.

Sounds rigorous enough, how did you get into that?

By chance more than invention.

I was in the RAF doing comms and nav, coming up to the end of my 9 years like, so I went to a jobs fair, handed out loads of cv's and this lot called me up and asked me in for an interview. Didn't take me long to accept after they offered me the job. Came out the mob 6 months earlier than planned.
