Blackjack is my game. The key is to learn and play the basic system religiously, but vary your betting patterns. I use this system:

Ex: Table minimum is $10

First bet: $20 if win then drop down to $10, if win go back to $20, if win go to $30 and so on. After a loss, drop back down to $20 and repeat. You maximize your winning streaks this way, and minimize your losing streaks.

Also, go to a smaller casino to play with a good crowd. Blackjack is ace when you're at a table with with people having fun and a dealer with a good personality.

WARNING: If they bring in an Asian woman with a face of stone, LEAVE. Those are the "closers". You'll get your clock cleaned. I've never won money at a table with a middle aged Asian woman dealing. It's not racist, it's the law of the universe.

Much appreciated! Actually, the last time I was in Vegas I was up a couple hundred and then the shift changed, an Asian woman started dealing and my luck turned. Didn't realize it was part of a universal truth

Think facing Goose Gossage in his prime.

Straight heat I'm assuming. Met the Goose some years back at a bar in NYC. Very nice guy but still intimidating as hell even though he was in his 50's at the time.

Yep. Just put down one finger and throws gas.

Pretty boss you met him. Being a Royals fan from the 70's though, he's evil incarnate, mind.

It was a pretty cool deal. I was dating a Yankees fan at the time and she got tickets for this event at a bar in the city. Got to meet the Goose, Posada, Paul O'Neill (and had pictures taken with all three). But, as a Mets fan, the real treat was meeting Don Zimmer. He had some great, great stories.
