Top rate of tax up to 50%, 40% bracket band reduced by 70k, 45% for income 80-123k. For those earning above 123k, ie the no personal allowance amount, then that's an effective rate of tax of 65% or so.

All that needed was for somebody dressed up as a toff and for Corbyn to chase him round with a mallet.

Already reports that the figures don't add up or are in some places missing altogether.

In it for the many - as long as you don't strive.

The Tory party has tripled the national debt since taking power.

But massively lowered the deficit. Statistics are only useful in their own context. I'm not saying they've done well, but the books are a lot healthier than 2010. I'm instinctively labour, but Corbyn is way too tax, spend and borrow for my liking.

And caused the suicide of hundreds of disabled people by declaring them fit to work despite GP recommendations.

But hey. Cut that deficit !

Just had a quick scan of some of the manifesto policies and they've made some bizarre choices.

They're proposing to spend billions to scrap tuition fees (which will mainly benefit the middle class) but very little to alleviate benefit cuts. No wonder the Tories are neck and neck with them in the North West, they seem to be focusing on appealing to Londoners above all.

It's a party aimed at Brixton hipsters.

The tuition fee scrapping is an attempt to persuade the nascent youth vote to get off their arses. Personally I don't agree with the policy at all, but I can see the logic in including it.

Tuition fees pledge is rank bad policy, but what's even more unbelievable is that most students still believe the myth that it will leave them saddled with crippling debt. And I say that as someone who only graduated coming up on 2 years ago. A hugely regressive policy and just sums up the entitlement that fills most people my age. Demand everything for free but refuse point blank that they should have to pay back once they earn a comfortable wage.

Free education at point of use. Then graduates who go on to be successful start paying a little bit back to fund our universities once they earn a decent wage. What on earth is not to support there???

Totally agree, from a party-political point of view it makes a lot of sense. I get the impression they know it's a futile exorcise anyway though.

Have to day not much to dislike in the 128 pages. Lots of good stuff in there. So I take it the higher tax for those earning high wages and scrapping the tuition fees are the main bones of contention?
