It puts no pressure on them at all. Whatever the government wishes to achieve will be done, one way or the other. It just makes his previous stance before the election look a bit silly. Personally I’m very pleased that he has said what he did as at least the EU are getting a consistent message from the main parties.....

Indeed... And Johnson would have danced all summer if Labour hinted at an extension. I suppose for now it will take a back burner, however, I suspect Rishi's buttocks are clacking and the thought of no extension and no deal...

TBF his tactics are more similar to Corbyn than any other recent Labour leader - there was even a constituents question just now (the one about childcare)
