Current Affairs The Labour Party

Therein lies the problem; people feel happier continuing to believe what they are told rather than examining whether it is true or not.

Take your Louise Ellman point for another example, in which the claim that she was harrassed and bullied out of the party by Momentum Party members (!) is presented as a fact, even though she had not even got to the stage of a trigger ballot (unlike Hodge) and the CLP's views on what had happened were never really given anything like the same coverage:

I’ve said before, Louise Ellman is an honest and dedicated Labour politician and has been all her life. Her position shows up everything that is wrong with today’s Labour Party......

Well if the character witness is yourself.....

No need for that, I have a social conscience, I’m just a scruff from Liverpool who did well, I always looked after everyone who worked for me and over whom I had control. Louise Ellman is a good Labour person, always has been, and as I said I’ve seen her at work first hand. Don’t put everyone in the same bin just because of how they vote......

Sorry, but you don't get to use the "I have a social conscience" card when shilling for the current regime.

Well spread a little knowledge of what you do......apart from voting Labour how do you show and demonstrate your social conscience.......

Pete you know in what field I work, as you've raised this particular bit of whataboutery before. Remind me again how your chosen candidate is going to help the less well off?

My chosen candidate is a guy called Andrew Bridgen, for North West Leicestershire. He has been absolutely consistent in what he stood for and what he supported, and was sent to Parliament to do his voters bidding. None of that ‘I know better ‘ crap espoused by other MP’s. He just does what it says on the tin......he helps the less well off by helping his area to be prosperous....perhaps you could ask Labour MP’s what they do apart from keeping their voters in poverty.....

hmm:

One MP in particular has maxed his bills at this hotel: the Conservatives’ Andrew Bridgen. When his marriage broke down a few years ago, Bridgen ditched his Westminster flat and adopted the hotel as his new pad. One year, he stayed here for 45% of the time – a total of 165 nights. Inevitably, Bridgen racked up a huge bill, amounting to nearly £25,000. Then he claimed it back on expenses. This is the same Andrew Bridgen who proudly told me: “I used to earn £1m a year.” His bills have gone down somewhat lately, but he still frequents the place.
