Compiling multiple countries doesn't demonstrate anything much.
I have two old associates, known for many years, who are professed socialists, but who have not worked for years and are very open about not wanting to work.
They are right capable people, who openly joke about outwitting the system.
I've got another friend who had a severe stroke in his 20s who'd love to work but physically and cognitively can't. He needs help navigating and negotiating the system. Had to write to our local MP about one bit of stupidity.
Anyway, it is deeply frustrating when folk who do need help, genuinely, are indirectly being fisted by the likes of the first two. Who also give socialism a bad name. Tossers.

Based on previous reports that receiving winter fuel payments caused a significant drop in excess winter deaths, one would expect a surge - https://www.ageuk.org.uk/latest-press/archive/winter-fuel-payment-prevents-12000-deaths-yearly/. Or maybe because those who need it still get WFA, we are avoiding this horror. Let's hope so. I'd hate to see it go the other way.

You're not listening to me. ALL the data is not in yet on excess winter deaths...because the winter is only 2/3rds through.
And if (hopefully) the excess dates aren't increased it will be DESPITE the Starmer Gang's cuts to WFA not because of it.
