All Starmer has done, like others before him is kick the issue into the long grass. It’ll never see the light of day, but it means he can forget about it now. Proper adult care in the U.K. is a disgrace and all parties of whatever flag have refused to address it. One of the first things Starmer and Reeves did was to abandon the maximum cost limit that was supposed to come in….

Well not really, there is no money so its going to have to be in the next parliament, its a consistent message. "no money", unless the Tories fess up and declare where all the COVID money is, indeed, my ma has more chance of freezing this winter without "WFA" than that happening.

So what Streeting is doing with a record of working across parties, which makes him a target for Ideologues across the political spectrum. Hopefully achieves cross party policy that becomes exempt from tiresome tribalism.

Much of Social Care would be much better place had Tories not scrapped Care 2014 act, which they initially agreed to implement.

And Social Care is not just Adult care its young people disabilities, to Foster care and adoptions, Adults receiving Mental health support Learning disabilities support to older people needing support, all being paid from Local Authorities budgets, not NHS...

Well let’s pray it gets sorted…..

Well i dare say its going to cost us more that's for sure. Good that Labour have increased Careers allowance, biggest increase since 1976.

Minimum 35hrs for £81.90, so £2.34 an hour. Meanwhile at home care provided by contracted care suppliers is £25 per hour…so £875 for 35 hours……

About right £25 per hour for older social care package the carer will get around half that maybe little more. In the most part its Private Care, commissioned out by Local Authorities, to save money. Big issue for me much of "Social Care" that is not a statuary requirement more or less is in hands of private entities to provide care, and course they and do say no care packages because its not profitable, leaving either family or care home as option, latter in most cases.
