Momentum, the leftwing Labour group, has criticised the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to the US, saying it is evidence of the party’s “moral bankruptcy” under Keir Starmer’s leadership. It put this on social media.

Starmer has appointed Peter Mandelson, associated with Jeffrey Epstein and implicated in the worst excesses of New Labour, as US ambassador.
This decision demonstrates once again the moral bankruptcy and political ineptitude that has characterised Starmer’s leadership to date.

Thought it was a pretty decent attempt at doing Les Gray's voice, and proceeds are of course going to charities supporting the elderly, which is good because it probably means the help meted out will be means tested, unlike the WFA was, and will really make a difference, as opposed to giving millionaires a bit of winter spending cash.

BBC not playing it for some reason, what a pity.

8/10 effort, good job all involved.

Been pondering this a bit more and of course none of the charity cash now winging its way OAP-wards would be possible without #ConscienceClearKeir at the helm, steering us through the choppy waters.

The man's doing wonders for our nation's vulnerable elderly. I hope they're all popping an extra Christmas card for No 10 in the post with a heartfelt message of gratitude to the big man.
