Current Affairs The Labour Party

I thought the central point of their campaign was not that the change was happening but that they weren't sufficiently informed about it. That doesn't sound like a narrative that fits with the "they spent decades planning for something".

Pension reform is a major bugbear as it's something that governments around the world neglect even in the face of huge demographic changes just because its politically expedient to kick the can down the road for the next lot to face. It's a prime example of the infantilisation of the electorate as they want everything and don't think (or care) how it will be paid for (hopefully by someone else).
A colleague of mine recently referred to the job of this government as triage for the economy.

What is the maximum value for the money spentnand what needs to be done quickly to keep things working.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that there are large parts of the country who have thus far been insulated or ignorant of what precisely consistutes a benefit (and been very vocal in the criticism of others claiming them), whoare now realising what it means to prioritise taxpayer money to someone who isn't them.

A 'Labour' leader standing up in the Commons for 30 minutes defending economic injustices to a Tory leader.

Is this really what you thought you were voting for?

If not, what does it feel like to have been utterly conned. It must feel 💩.

I voted for a party to try & undo the cluster that the Tory party have left us for the last 14 years. Something they’re not suddenly going to sort out in 5 minutes.

The alternatives were the Tory Party again, the Greens/Reform with their dreamworld manifestos, the LDs who despite having a decent manifesto are still undoing damage from the coalition.

That or we could have voted for a party whose leader pretended to be a cat on national television.

...or abstain.

I will never vote for any party that practices neo-liberlaism and the catastrophic consequences that has for most people's lives.

Abstaining was a vote for the Conservative Party.

The majority of people in this country vote for their own self-interests & while the Tories [Poor language removed] the majority of this country, they’ve personally hammered the organisation I work in.

It was anyone but them & Labour are the only current realistic alternative.

Even Badenoch will get the better of Starmer eventually as all of his contradictions pile up and he pisses off enough people...which wont be that long.
With the entirety of the media lambasting Labour, and the left and right of UK politics chomping at the bit to find any reason to attack them, she's been focusing her attention on lunchtime food choices and attacking him for not doung things her party failed to do or kicked down the road.

Why have Reeves, Starmer, Kendall and Rayner all changed their tune on the Waspi situation now they’re in power?

Answer: Because they’re liars who said whatever they needed to get in to power.

Also, it’s funny how there’s no money to pay compensation to these women (who are British taxpayers), but we always have an an endless supply of money to spend on foreign wars, international ‘aid’ and £22bn for absolute nonsense like carbon capture, which has never worked anywhere in the world.

Tory and Labour have always been thieves and liars, they just don’t make any effort whatsoever to hide it any more. You’re an idiot if you vote for either of them and legitimise them.

Why should they be compensated for incompetence?

Women benefited for years from early retirement without any equal opportunities or feminist activist making a wave.

Finally it was overturned and now some women are trying to say they weren't aware? Ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law.

Made up these Waspis were swatted.
