If farmers all give up and sell and go off and enjoy their land sales in the Bahama's say, where does this leave food security? because if the nation begins to starve won't that prevent those wegovy jabs being needed for job seekers? There's been an obesity epidemic (pork chops and cheese cake everywhere!) so can't this be seen as a cure? And this must be a brexit benefit as well, no more imported fancy foreign food, build back better, bake n make british, ban the food boats, stop the imports, famine for all, can we somehow wrap putin up in some blame? clarkson likes shooting - is the nation relying on that fat bag of farts to provide enough venison to go round?

Generational wealth has lost some of it's protection. What a terrible turn of events. And it's Reeves fault, not the investment blocks buying farmland up to swerve the revenue system.

It's a despicable land grab.

More wonderful as its going to bring farm land down in price as those buying up land to be tax efficient are now getting squeezed out of investing in farm land. And some farmers "barley barons" being wound up by right wing activists and distorting the issues.

It’s designed to stop a tax loop hole, where investors / big companies buy up farmland due to the tax benefits and it’s caught a load of genuine farmers in the tax drag net.

…and that’s the issue. If it was geared towards these billionaires who just buy land but don’t really farm then no one would be upset. In fact tax the hell out of them as they can afford it. Meanwhile we’ve now got the farmers and even DEFRA arguing with the numbers put forward by the Treasury (who couldn’t be arsed to talk to DEFRA before coming up with this nonsense) where the farmers are saying over 7,000 farms will be affected and the Treasury and that pillock Reeves saying it’s only 500. This is why people are getting so upset and the government are shooting themselves in the foot…….

Even the BoE (with real economists, not those with dodgy CV’s) have now joined in with the Asda’s and Sainsbury’s saying that the NIC changes will result in massive job losses and a rise in inflation. Budgets come and go, but she has managed to make all the wrong calls and pissed off 10,000,000 pensioners. There is absolutely no way they will get back in…shambles…….
