Apologies if posted earlier. Interesting to hear what the lobbyists at the business event are complaining about.

Worried about the workers rights package & what the budget might have in store for them.

All while grumbling about being restricted in their backroom access.

It’s almost like there’s a Labour government despite what we keep hearing.

Oh & the free sandwiches, because lobbyists are probably mostly tools.

But Dave, surely there's a conflict of interest when unions give gifts like this and we see large pay rises for unionised industries at the expense of Tory and Brexit voting pensioners?

I mean have we seen any "large" pay rises. We have seen pay rises recommend by an impartial body I believe.

And pay rises far below both cumulative inflation, and below where they should be in real terms over the last 15 years.

I would say paying people less in real terms is small.

Let's hope we see some large increases for working people, after the service we/they have probably voted, we definitely deserve it.

Yes. Definitely. @peteblue said we have and that the unions will have Labour over a barrel because they caved in over it. This is clearly the direct cause for pensioners losing WFA.

Because Labour got lobbied/paid off by unions. Has to be, right? Just using the logic of Dave and Pete, if you follow the thread ;)

I'm not sure that's what happened at all.

Workers have been underpaid for a long time. Labour have been elected to rectify that. They have made a tiny step in that direction.

‘Sir Freebie suggested keeping winter fuel payments in place could have sparked a Liz Truss-style meltdown on markets as he launched a bid to reboot his fledgling premiership today.’

Dear god, does he really think that people will believe this absolutely stupid excuse…..
