Good regarding oil, we need to move forward as a species and find new sources of energy instead of destroying the planet. Policing and sentencing should be focused on rehabilitation not just on punishment, people will continue to spiral in crime if they're not helped. For other serious crimes, sometimes a standard is needed to set for a period of time to deter other idiots. Israel and the USA don't care remotely about the UK, it's not the 1990s anymore, the country isn't even in the EU.

We're gonna definitely disagree on what I've said above, because we have different alignments politically, and that's healthy for democracy.
 
All of this crap about MP’s taking freebies is a bit skewed by the cronies in the media of the Tories. Any MP that takes them has to declare them, acting members of government don’t have to declare them if they’re related to them performing their duties in office. So a culture secretary invited to a cultural event doesn’t declare it but the shadow minister does. Starmer took £100k worth of “freebies” Borris took nearly £190k just to do his flat up.

Starmer pays for his Arsenal season ticket but believes it a better use of taxpayer money to not sit in those seats because the security costs of him sitting there would outweigh the complimentary VIP tickets he gets.

Funny how the Daily Fail et al never piped up once about MP freebies when the Tories sat in power

Because the Tories never made a pious and sanctimonious song and dance about Labours freebies. Starmer did, frequently, and is now being hoisted by his own petard and people can see it…for a man getting free suits and designer glasses he now appears to be a man wearing no clothes…….

Maybe because they knew if their own were looked into it would far dwarf anything Labour MP’s were receiving. I suppose you don’t need freebies when you just hand out multi million pound contracts to businesses you’re connected to though

Again Pete, the only reason you're holding one party to account for this is simply because the Tory party must be acknowledged as poorer humans.

I’m just enjoying watching Starmer and Reeves squirming over this, while the previously ‘caring’ new new Labour Party has to admit it’s no better than any other party…..

It's ok, the ideals of sunlit uplands are slowly dissipating with time. The sooner last night at the proms is finished for good and 'rule brittania' consigned to history the sooner the rest of us left to juggle these flaming balls of raw sewage that is modern britain can move past the expectation of empire and certain people being boss.
