And what about the pensioners who do need it? The kind of logic this article lends itself to is ridiculous and plays right into the govt's hands. Should we scrap the NHS because a few people misuse it?
You hope the pensioners that require the funds will receive it. As the means tested benefits tend to do. It will mean some will miss out by a few quid and they will be affected. But the move I think is a sensible move.
The NHS is under massive pressures. I wouldn't say people intentionally misuse it. But the backlogs caused by multiple reasons, some the Tories and COVID have really caused millions of Brits health to decline, as they haven't received the treatment they require.
Again you just have trust that this Government can resolve it. Some don't like the fact of increasing wages for the public sector. But to actually allow staff to stop striking and help reduce the waiting list. Is a massive cost benefit to the NHS and it's budgets, something I think a few haven't thought about.
