I know it's only for us wools but:

Starmer will not allow Wales to have clear red water. I think there's going to be a huge factional split within Llafur soon, and I'm all for it.

Gethin got in on the basis of lying to the electorate. It shouldn't be allowed.

The difference between Drakeford (and Khan / Burnham) and Gething is very depressing, and what makes it worse is you never know whether him rolling over on this, or 20mph, is because he has been paid to or just because he’s useless.

I can’t see him lasting much longer, though as you say Starmer et al seem determined to do what Blair did (when desperately trying to avoid putting Rhodri Morgan in the position that he was so obviously the right man for) so perhaps they’ll make a complete arse of themselves trying to keep him there like what Tony did with the man from Clapham.

Gething looks set to lose a vote of confidence this afternoon. Two Labour members are likely to miss the vote through illness. By coincidence, the two were among Gething's biggest critics in the Labour group; this could mean that Labour lose the vote.

I am sure many people will appear more upset than they are if he does go.

It'll be awkward for Labour whatever happens. If Gething goes, it'll be "Labour have got rid of the first black man to lead a European country"; after the Diane Abbott row, it'll be highly embarrassing for Labour.

Whereas if he stays in place after losing a vote of confidence, for the rest of the election campaign Labour will be asked "Do you back a leader who has accepted £200,000 from a dodgy businessman with several criminal convictions and who has lost the confidence of the Senedd in Wales?" Of course, the Tories' hands are far from clean in the matter of accepting donations but the Daily Mail, Telegraph etc will ignore that.

That Getting sitaution in Wales is a peak into the future for what awaits the rest of us: a deceitful scumbag who'll take back headers off big business.

John Healey looking shifty when questioned about Labour tax plans on Sky this morning. Really unimpressive interview.
He's been a Blairite, then he jumped ship to become a Corbyn shadow minister, then he stabbed his own leader in the back as part of the Chicken Coup, then he accepted another shadow ministerial position under Corbyn, then he clung to Starmer to get another shadow ministerial position.

A Rigby-looking, Judas careerist rat.

They still seem to be trying to insist that he doesn't have to resign, which is certainly an interesting line to take.
Its non binding and opposition voiced their non confidence, so to get rid it will have to be no confidence in the Welsh Labour Government.

Not sure why he won leadership, i certainly did not vote for him as it was obvious this Environmental bung was going to be an issue.

Always the danger when you let ordinary members vote i suppose, in that not all will be thoroughly informed.

Copy and paste proof of membership...

Dear ...
You can now cast your vote in the election to decide who will be the next Leader of Welsh Labour.
You can also cast your vote in the elections for the Constituency Labour Party (CLP) section of the Welsh Executive Committee (WEC).
The WEC is responsible for making many of the strategic decisions at a devolved level about the running of the Welsh Labour Party. There are ten positions on the WEC for CLP representatives, who serve a two year term. Each region has two representatives (at least one of whom must be a woman).
You are receiving this ballot as an individual Labour Party member who resides in Wales and meets the eligibility requirements.
Please click here to vote. This unique link will take you to the voting website where you will be able to view all the information you should need to make your choice.
The website will give clear instructions on how to cast your vote. It takes just a few moments to cast your vote online, and you can do so at any time until the ballot closes.
Voting closes at 12 noon on Thursday 14 March 2024.
You will not be able to cast your vote after this time.
Thank you for taking part in this important election.
Please consider making a donation to help us win the next General Election.
Yours sincerely,
Jo McIntyre
General Secretary, Welsh Labour
