Worse than Sunak and the Bullingdon club?

It might feel like the devil and the deep blue see but I think it is reasonable to say that there is zero chance of the any party other than Labour or the Conservatives being in power after the GE.
It's not really the ideal way of looking at it. Sure, this shower of ratfink incompetent bell ends are rank awful. And yes, it would be bloody hard to be worse.

However, I rather think we all deserve a better option than omnishambles turd vs. slightly less omnishambles turd.

Yay, luck electorate huh?

Politics stinks, and I agree it doesn't feel perfect but we don't know that Labour will deliver poor leadership and/or drive fractures in the general population (apart from those on the left of the party who clearly hate Starmer).

I do know that Sunak and his team will bring more of the same. The boats, syphoning our tax to their family and friends and trying to break any public services that offers the possibility of money through privatisation.

Where have I said Sunak et al will be better?

What I'm pointing out is that base competence is needed as much as any ideological shift.

Labour look a bit wobbly at the moment.

Because most want a functioning state that looks after us when we are vulnerable and in need, educates our kids and looks after the environment we live in etc. But don't want pay for it. Personally much of the electorate is to blame it does not grasp how local democracy works let alone national and how that effects much of what they want out of democracy and the state it provides...

Apologies, I should have quoted "slightly less omnishambles turd".

It seems that they are trying to navigate the minefield that leads to a GE victory. I don't envy them as it is a picture of many moving parts and foes ready to attack at all times.

I suspect the wobbles are coming from trying to avoid traps and the like.

Thats lovely, but I'm not sure it relates to what I said mate.

They (the people around Starmer) are deeply incompetent. To repeat myself, these are the remaining members of a sect that Corbyn battered twice. That lost Scotland and millions of voters over several elections; that are a byword for corrupt or incompetent councils.

Their leaders abandoned them to get peerages, directorships etc, leaving these dregs behind. They are screwing up now and will screw up if ever given real power.

Lucky us. Not confidence inspiring.

I live in the constituency and my wife is a member of the local Labour Party. The appointment was rushed through because the Starmer clique in London were terrified of the possibility of Andy Burnham throwing his hat in the ring. The local party wanted to take their time over the selection but were over ruled. The mob down in London don’t want any chance of a successor to Starmer emerging. Apart from Burnham who is there of any sort of statue ? Wes Streeting ? ! We always thought that the late and much respected Tony Lloyd was keeping the seat warm for Burnham.

There was another extremely good candidate, Paul Waugh, that my wife voted for. He’d left his job as a journalist to stand for the candidacy. He wasn’t right wing enough I suppose. The whole issue stinks. We had the laughable sight of Jewish Larbour people speaking in defence of the sacked candidate yesterday. I heard Lord Mann and Ellerman backing him. That’s because they thought the candidate could be counted on not to make any waves and be a nodding dog in Parliament.

Incidentally I’d just come back from a full morning’s leafletting on behalf of the candidate yesterday when I heard the news on the radio. I wasn’t best pleased as my old football injury was playing me up. I had about 30 leaflets left that went in the bin this morning. No more leafletting for me, that’s the only plus I can see.

Paul Waugh was the Starmer canidiate it was the majority of local party members that wanted Ali.

Anyway, does anyone know if Maureen Lipman has left the party?

(Again)

That those (Mann and Ellman) made fools of themselves if one of the only amusing things of this sorry saga.

I see now that some are saying people should vote Danczuk to keep Galloway out, which is probably peak behaviour from that lot.

what was anti-semitic about what he said?

I'd just like to point out that the views expressed by Azhar Ali are shared by various left wing allotment dwelling members who are very active on the Israel/Palestine/Labour threads here.
Been posts agreeing with Ali's comments much earlier on these threads which have been widely liked.
If Ali's expelled from Labour, he'd find a warm welcome here and would be accruing 'likes' faster than George Galloway can launch into a cat impression.

Please quote the offenders friend. The CA demands probity and justice.

Or something.
