that theory - that parties as society understands them no longer exist - has been one that Oborne has been warning about since the early 00s, sadly not enough people have noticed

UK should stop its arm trade with the Israel but its not going to do that because of money UK loose and the jobs that would be lost. One the loudest to shout if this trade was to end would be the Unions who have sizable membership in British weapon manufacturing.

U.K. arms sales to Israel is peanuts and most of it is components within the USA supplied F35’s……

'They' turned out to be plod Owen. And he was a bit rough. Not allowed to protest in this country anymore. It's illegal. I wonder if he got batoned around the head repeatedly for this outburst. Then two pigs attack a woman. Bless, it's a hard job isn't it.
A quality set up, done Raynor over there, two pronged attack, bloke upset about his murdered family, then some shrill feminist that segues into a protest about Gaza. And they had multiple fuzz at hand so were prepared for something.

Shame there isn't more access to sunak and truss and mogg. Being the government in power of the day and holding that majority herr boris delivered.

I still don't get it tbh (aside from finding it a bit odd in an era in which a couple of MPs have been murdered by loonies and pretty much all have received horrendous abuse online and in person, so storming an event and shouting the odds is perhaps not "the" best approach to take if you want to get listened to), but Labour are the opposition, so even if they nod and say yep, shrill lady, I agree it's terrible that women in Gaza are using tents for sanitary towels, what does it actually achieve in terms of changes for those women? It makes that lady perhaps feel better about herself but that won't help the people in Gaza any.

Just seems like a lot of protest these days is to make the protestors feel good about themselves rather than driving any meaningful change.

What protest would drive meaningful change in this case @Bruce Wayne?

Also, gtf with the idea that disrupting a speaking event is comparable to being stabbed in the street.
It was a man rushing the stage, clearly upset (with probably just cause), but I don't find it odd that the police or security there would shuffle him off as they can't know what he was going to do. This is the world we're in at the moment.

As for what protest would drive meaningful change, I have no idea to be honest. That part of the world has been in some kind of conflict for decades with no meaningful progress, so I don't know what would actually change things. Protesting against politicians who aren't actually in government seems unlikely to do it though.
