insults where substantial debate should be.

Your idea of 'substantial debate' is to make up stuff about Starmer to froth over. You should have popped along to the Reform press conference this morning, apart from the fact you're on completely opposite sides of the spectrum you're basically chatting the same nonsense:

I don't really want to have to keep firing the same broadsides at you, but your unceasing efforts to keep the Tories in power are dangerous for the country, and as you don't actually listen to or engage with anyone and just want to keep throwing tantrums over Starmer (including making stuff up!) then you can be treated accordingly.

This is patently ridiculous.

I think anyone reading the thread with even the most basic understanding of the British political system understands that imploring people not to vote for one of the two major parties in a FPTP system is implicit support for their opponents. That's the unfortunate electoral reality*.

Your arguing against this point shows you up as trolling or simply not qualified to be posting your opinion and having it taken seriously.

Which to be fair, is what's happening.

* And I do mean unfortunate. I'm not a Starmer fanboy, would prefer a bolder, Lefter government, but I'm not convinced it can come about under FPTP. I don't have an answer on how we bridge the gap between here and there, but I absolutely reject Dave's plan of letting the Tories in until the country is so ruined some new Corbyn figure gets in by default.

Its really not Dave.

I am not sure if thats your intention, I dont believe it is, but thats what it looks like.

You keep telling people not to vote Labour, if everybody took your advice, we get The Tories again.
So you want me to encourage a system that offers no alternative to two parties who can only achieve power?

If Starmer's LP were committed to PR I'd hold my nose and vote for them.

Since they are not I'll vote for a party more aligned with me. If that's ok like?

PR?

You are free to vote for whoever you want, but as above, some of us would prefer if you werent a walking advertisement for The Tory Party.

You can vote for who you like Dave, it's a free country (unlike in your pal Vlad's 'elections' coming this year). If you're in a safe seat then maybe a strong showing for a Green candidate might move the needle on your local MP's viewpoint. Who knows? Stranger things have happened.

But when you start arguing as to what others should do then your arguments become fair targets for criticism, especially when it aligns with Tory objectives.

And when you keep throwing weird tantrums over Starmer personally by making stuff up, then your oversights need to be corrected. You wouldn't want to "inadvertently mislead" the forum, would you?
