Labour are looking to do a deal with the EU to send people back though, and refugee charities have highlighted concerns with this accusing them of parroting the tories.

They have also highlighted the issues within the system and seem to think the answer is hiring more staff, but as somebody who works in that system I can say more focus should be put on making the system more humane and effective for the people who come into the country.

Could be wrong but I think this is trying to get in place a new Third Country / Dublin III-type arrangement in place with the EU, which existed pre-Brexit, but the government decided not to replace with anything else.

You not think labour need to be stronger on this?

‘left ideology’ doesn’t really have much to do with not wanting vulnerable people sent to another country you know.

Haven't they already stated it? Target criminal gangs of smugglers and do a deal with the EU to send migrants to camps in Calais and beyond. Parcelling it all up as a 'security' issue for Britain.

It's classic dog whistle racism. All that's absent its the word "swamped".

All Labour need to do is show how incompetent the Tories are at spending Tax payers monies be it Rwanda plan or anything else, they only need to be strong on issues that effect the electorate.

NHS Social Care Housing Cost of living. Literally the only people wanging on about Immigration Asylum and people arriving by boat is Tories and its what they always have reached when in trouble, to divide others.

Let them rip themselves apart and see it all fail. Basically dont be a Corbyn and walk naively into the trap.

And Starmer is promising to roll out more cuts and austerity and promising the coportate sector they'll deregulate further than the Tories did.

Its not all some big ruse just to get the keys to Number 10, it's what he/they believe.

Cooper has highlighted the dangerous and cruel elements of the Rwanda policy, a lot.

This particular news and her subsequent tweet is on the recent uncovering of the costs more than doubling.

Also, Labour tactics are in part to make the dots subtly and let that be so strong and factual, it let's people connect the dots and reach their own conclusion.

It's powerful persuasion in my opinion as no-one likes to be told anything David...

That'd be more convincing if she'd managed to find her voice on the slaughter of Gazan's in that recent Westminster vote.

You cant actually believe that this Starmer crew are a progressive force waiting in the wings to right wrongs. You are very naive if you think that.

They talk about trickle down economics of growth paying for everything: they KNOW that you cant get growth without substantial investment...and - seeing that they aren't prepared to spend - well that finishes that then.

They are so far ahead in the polls not because they are good and offer hope but because the public are sick to the back teeth of the same Tory pantomime week in week out.

Starmer's 'Labour' will be a one term flash in the pan. This isn't Blairism on the march here. They at least had a saleable vision. Stamer et al offer no vision other than a vague BS promise to 'grow the economy'.

Starmer will last about 2 years in that job and then replaced with another right winger like Streeting...then 'Labour' will be turfed out.

So glad you can read Starmers mind for us, sure you're just not scaremongering to suit you're agenda against Starmer- the anti-Christ and the Labour party in general. Think after ten years of injustice, incompetence and down right corruption, I will gladly give the Labour party a chance thanks and judge them myself on their performance, if they even get in power, rather than listen to you're maniacal ranting.
