No, it wasn't.

What have Starmer's rats achieved with the call for a pause and cessation of violence?

Its important to have an identity and morals to go with it. People notice what a shallow piece of crap Starmer is and his party is cast in his image.
So it was a complete waste of time then, cos everybody already knew Starmer was a bellend.

Well isn't there a four day pause ? That's four days without killing and just maybe during this pause they may get around the table for peace talks.

Pause ends on Monday - bombing resumes thereafter for, according to the Israelis, another 2 months.

You call that a success after 48 days of ceaseless bombing and murder?

Still its going save more lives than shouting about unachievable ceasefire thousands miles away. As most have concluded it was never about saving lives and the polls reflect that with Labour ahead now as they have been for the last 18 months or so.

But hold on, this is a pause-ceasefire not a pause isn't it? A pause was just for hours and not days, so how do you claim this a success for parties that have been calling for a more limited pause?

All this underlines is that if the main parties in influential countries had pushed for a flat out ceasefire - insisted on it - and not just 4 days, they'd have got it.

Even 1 day pause is better than meaningless principled position on declaring support for full ceasefire which only outcome was being excluded further away from any peace talks going forwards.
Lets not forget Hamas have agreed to this pause as they get some 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails in exchange for the release of at least 50 women and children held in Gaza.

Why is a full ceasefire unachievable? Have ceasefires never happened ever before?

They take demands from governments like the US and to a lesser degree the UK.

A party of principle in opposition in this country DEMANDS that ceasefire...but we haven;t got such a party now...we have Starmer's party who are totally in thrall to the Israeli lobby and petrified of being tainted with the BS anti-semitism tag.

There is an empty shell where the Labout Party used to be.

Where did I call it a success ? I accept you're apology in advance, you are assuming the worst as usual. War is a vile thing, but before it's over it needs talks to happen. Starmer wanted a pause, he got one. Hopefully things can progress towards a ceasefire. But to be honest these Countries seem to have been at each other's throats forever.

Starmer didn’t get anything, he is an irrelevance no matter what he wanted. There is a pause because Israel wants its hostages back and Hamas has gained from the taking of hostages….
