I’m not one to blame the people for who gets elected.

I blame the system that turns us all against eachother instead of coming together for our common ground.

Labours numbers under Blair dropped dramatically since Iraq and the party didn’t do enough to distance themselves from the Blair/brown regime.

There are loads of reasons as to why Labour have spent so much time out of power, but Blair and Iraq is a big reason imo.
Probably.

But there are many other contributing factors too. Such as ignorance, the elitist pull and the desire to be seen as elite, the hatred towards people in need and the culture war whipped up by Tory’s and of course Corbyn being portrayed in the media as the second coming of Karl Marx.

Excellent piece this is. Please read.

Yes excellent news that Labour are on course for a resounding election victory, ( That's the part that probably really annoys you Dave :) ) but after three consecutive defeats, last one a landslide, I'll take that. Have a nice day Dave. You can't do anything when you're not the actual Government.

If this nation are dumb enough to ever vote the Tory’s in again after the last 13 years, then it deserves everything this rancid little filth hole of an island gets.

The Tories won't leave office with anything other than Boris Johnson as the monkey they have to shake off their back.

The charge sheet against them is more than that of course given austerity etc but voters have very short memories and won't be put off voting for them again - especially when the Former Lbour Party fail to address the needs of the people who'll vote for them...and they will fail in that.

Starmer's party are the broken promises party - we all know that'll happen given his record so far.

So called 'Labour' will be in office 2024-2029. Tories back in for a couple of terms thereafter. Because Starmer and his lot are a bunch of corporate lickspittles with zero morality.

There you go again Nostradamus, telling people what's going to happen when Labour get in power, maybe you should just give them a chance ? Who knows things might even get better. It will take time it won't happen right away. Maybe you could be actually wrong.

The appalling debt ridden incompetent mess the Tories have left this Country in cannot be fixed overnight. You're calling for his head even before he's in power. I'm no great fan of Starmers, would much prefer Andy Burnham, but even you can't deny Starmer and Co have worked wonders to where the Labour party was after the last election.

If you'd bothered to read the article I linked above you'd know that the LP under Corbyn even in 2019 got 10.2 million people to vote for it; and in 2017 the LP under Corbyn attracted almost 13 million people to vote for it.

In comparison...

Under Miliband in 2015 = 9.3 million voted for the LP
Under Brown in 2010 = 8.6 million voted for the LP
Under Blair in 2005 = 9.5 million voted for the LP

...let's see how many Starmer's LP attracts against a Tory government in the bin. I suspect it won't be as many as Corbyn attracted in 2017.

Still gets his pension and countless speaking engagements, I doubt he cares.
Of course he doesn't. But the pit is that his actions in fabricating a pretext to go and help kill 1.5 million people in the Iraq War sickended a generation of activists and voters who would have see the LP as their natural home. That gori=und was only made top by Corbyn...and now Starmer will throw that away with his agreement for Israel to carry out a genoise in Gaza.

I disagree

Peoples mortgages have rocketed. Cost of living through the roof. They partied while people were under lock and key and are responsible for the deaths of thousands of old people.

All of the things that the average middle ground voter remembers are what will see them off.

This is what they will be tarred with, in the same way that Labour were wrongly tarred with the economy in 2010, only the Tory’s are actually responsible for all of those things.

They won’t be out for only 1 term IMO. Unless Labour are a calamity, which under a professional leader like Starmer they won’t be.

Dislike him for whatever reason you deem fit, but as a professional he is first class and could be equally as competent as a senior statesman.

And as I keep telling you, 6 months from now, nobody but you will remember.

Thankfully, for every misstep Starmer makes, Rishi and his Nazi clan make 5.

File under 'Boris Johnson'.

If there's one thing the Tories do well (unfortunately) it's win elections.

The vast majority of the media will be at their backs again in 2029 and they'll win again.

Of course, that could all alter if that 'kin scumbag Starmer switched us to a PR system...but he wont, because he is 100% in the pockets of the ruling class, and the last they want is for everyone to have an equal say on who gets into government.
