Good grief it would have been absolute suicidal naivety to be anything but mediocre today, male opposition leader kicks female PM when she is down, the mass media would have frothed at the mouth along with all the Tories as they rallied around May, the froth fest resumed against Corbyn.

The wider electorate the non politicals were all watching today, not a day you take down a PM down and gloat. Besides today was Corbyn and Labour wanting to get on with Brexit and now its the Tories that look to delay it with leadership contest, let them get on with it.

I’m a labour voter but I was disappointed, o take your point and I’m sure May had a vote of confidence zinger to reply with but I’m being honest enough to say I expected more ,

Purposely mediocre, there is even Tory advises saying this now. Because there is no point on these big issues until we enter election purdah period, as the press legally has to report impartially in that period.

Good luck with convincing these of that; I mean if their reaction to a PM being faced with a vote of no confidence after knowing she’d lose her most important vote by >100, after being found in contempt of parliament and after losing numerous other votes on top of losing her majority in an election she called is to say “Christ, that Corbyn is rubbish” then no amount of your logic is going to get through to them.

The idea that Corbyn was mediocre on purpose today as some sort of master plan is so laughable that I'm 99% convinced your post here is some sort of advanced parody that I can't understand.

The scary thing for me was watching last Sunday’s Andrew Marr show when Boris Johnson looked like he’d had a haircut and appeared as articulate , firm and reasonable in his beliefs . If you didn’t know anything more about him than how he was portraying himself then , then he came across reasonably well. Corbin on the other hand later that morning was anything but convincing. He should be wiping the floor with any Tory politicians he’s compared with at this moment in time. With issues like Brexit, Foodbanks, NHS, Universal Credit etc where the Tories are failing badly Labour should be beating them up on a regular basis, and worryingly I don’t see it.

That’s clearly not what I’m saying by the way . May is an absolute disaster and a lame duck prime minister, my point was simply I was hoping for more today .

With a government in such total disarray you'd expect the opposition to be miles ahead in the opinion polls. I remember the last months of the Callaghan government and the "winter of discontent" - the Tories were about 25 points ahead in the polls. Sadly, the political situation now is far worse than it was then. The last opinion polls I've seen put the Conservaties and Labour at roughly level.

It's staggering isn't it? Entirely predictable but staggering nevertheless.

He's the worst party leader I've seen in my lifetime by some distance.

You would say that you are a Tory, and the worst party leader in your lifetime really? check out the woman you voted for how is she doing never mind IDS, Cameron etc.

I voted for the Conservatives, but I'm not a Tory.

I know that might be hard for you to understand, but so be it.

May, Cameron, Thatcher - all awful, but all had a semblance of competence at different points of their careers before making fatal mistakes. Corbyn is just totally woeful.

Ok mate.

Yeah mate.

Same as "I voted for Labour every other election in my life, but I'm not a Labour supporter."

Because I judge each election on the merits of each party at that time, instead of being a simpleton tribalist who votes for whoever because "that's what I'm supposed to do."

It's why the likes of Kirkby are backwaters - because the people there are proud Labour supporters and get taken for granted because of it.

Yeah sound as a pound mate.

Male opposition leader puts the boot into floundering female PM #metoo, big fail. The wider Tory party rally round.

I
Sit back and watch the Tories rats fight it out in their Brexit sack. ERG looking like Judas Iscariot to the wider electorate, why on earth side with them that would show no tactical nous whatsoever...
