yeah, there is a difference between stabilising the party or gutting out all of his opposition within the party - which he has done

him and sunak have the combined personality of a conker. i reckon if the Tories kept Johnson, they would have won the next election
Nah, he is too toxic even for them now.

Only right wing loon balls think he’s of sound character.

I think the EU also began by stating its support for Israel and its right to defend itself, didn't it? While there appears to be some movement on that, Labour following both the US and EU isn't exactly them being an outlier. I get that it's almost certainly not what Corbyn would have done, which is perhaps the bee that a lot of you have in your bonnet.

It was - and still is - perfectly possible to say that after what happened last Saturday that someone supports Israel and its right to defend itself.

The foolish thing was to give the appearance that we will sign on to support everything the Israeli government are doing / about to do, many of which go a long way beyond legitimate self defence and probably have crossed the line of being actual war crimes. It also doesn't help when the Israeli government are openly lying - today they claimed there was no humanitarian crisis in Gaza for example - and there are sections of that government that at least appear to be absolutely determined to clear Gaza of its inhabitants without any real notion of where they will end up (clue: its Europe).

For all the criticism he receives, Corbyn does actually know the history of the region and what has been happening on the ground. I am not sure our government has given any indication they do or care that they don't know.

Following the imperialist line in being pro war crimes isn't a particularly good look

The bee in my bonnet is the leader of the Labour Party condoning war crimes.

You seem to be perfectly fine about this?

A case launched against him by human rights lawyers now...it'll probably have the same outcome as the one served on Blair but it just pins Starmer down as the same sort of calibre as Blair on foreign policy...though miles off Blair's social policy....tbf to Blair.

Regardless of Israel's actions, Hamas committed a terrorist atrocity in which the UK/US/ European nations have all experienced this from other Islamic Extremist groups over the years.
