They've imposed a candidate on our local CLP for the upcoming by-election in my constituency, entirely unfairly, and thrown it into disarray. Not a chance I'd vote for them now.

Indeed, it doesnt.
But I have worked in both for years, and I loved it. The thought of politicians deciding what is "best" for me as a working man just turns me right off them. Now, I get that some gig/zero hours workers are totally taken the rise out of, but tons actually enjoy the soft power it gives them. In about 6 years working 6 days a week, I took one week off. I enjoyed it so much.
Dont miss the tax return mind.
No one can really say what this Labour Party are. Their message is all over the place and this will massively cost them unless they sort it out.
At this stage they seem to be marketing themselves as sensible tories.
