They should have a standard response; “ you ask what we would do but we wouldn’t be in this mess had we been in Government. The NHS would’ve been well funded, we wouldn’t be facing a winter of discontent because public sector pay wouldn’t have fallen so far behind. We would’ve borrowed to invest to ensure the economy grew, not to fund tax cuts.”

Good politics and of course actually listening to said speech Starmer wants everyone on good pay and good conditions regardless of country of origin. Finally a 21st Britain .Bloody clueless.

Thought it was a point about non-reliance on below living wage labour from abroad which simply isn't sustainable and has the knock on negative effects it does. It's peeing in the wind currently because fighting the fight to get veg pickers a fair wage for a full days toil is one thing, but the nurses have voted to strike, that's skilled and experienced labour with outcomes a touch more significant than some frost bitten foliates.
This will never catch on.

Well there is politics for the headline then there is policy when in government... Still going forwards oatmeal latte or Great grandmother Maud care its going to cost more because the worker is going to need to be paid more regardless of who it is. The care firm the Mrs admins for is now £13 plus an hour for care workers + benefits that never existed before, an increase from two years ago at the various minimum wages, sure it's just coincidence we actually left freedom of movement in that time.
