Future PM please. lol
If Labour can't beat this shambles of a Tory government in the election right now (and reclaim the red wall) then I'm honestly not sure what purpose they serve anymore. I know that there will always be blind loyalists that vote Conservative (and Labour) no matter what, but it really shouldn't be difficult to sway the rest of country (aka the vast overwhelming majority) to utterly steamroll the tories right now.
If Labour managed to be defeated by this government two years from now it would still be an utter embarrassment. This is by far the worst, most shambolic, incompetent government we've ever had. Next week, six months or two years from now there's absolutely no excuse good enough to justify not running them out of office. Failure to do so would be a horrible reflection on the Labour party and Starmer. There is (and will be) no election "right now" though

If there was anyone that the Tories could select as Leader/PM that was even vaguely credible I'd agree with you, but there isn't. Who can they select as leader right now that wouldn't be an even bigger embarrassment then the clowns they've already tried?!They should win, yes, but I think you're dramatically underestimating how many people will have "forgotten" (aka stopped being embarrassed by) what's going on right now.
Mordaunt / Sunak (while both terrible) are miles off being embarrassments of the scale of Johnson/TrussIf there was anyone that the Tories could select as Leader/PM that was even vaguely credible I'd agree with you, but there isn't. Sunak? The man who's already been rejected by Tory members once? The man who was so unpalatable to the core membership that they chose to support Truss?! He wouldn't stand a chance in an election. He's one of the most unlikeable humans in that whole party. They'd be better off going with Rees-Mogg then him as that guy would at least appel to some of the core voters.Mordaunt / Sunak (while both terrible) are miles off being embarrassments of the scale of Johnson/Truss

Mordaunt I'll grant you would be the safest option for the core members but to the wider public? I don't think she'd stand a chance.
Well with all due respect, I disagree. Both are easily on a par with Johnson/Truss for being a useless, incompetent, embarrassing mess.I simply said that both are less EMBARRASSING than Johnson/Truss, which is simply a fact. It's not a high bar, but both of them clear it.
Mordaunt is an unknown quantity, but Sunak (and I disagree with him about pretty much everything and dislike him as an individual) is not even in the same vicinity as Johnson and Truss when it comes to being embarrassing individuals to have leading the country. Not even close.Well with all due respect, I disagree. Both are easily on a par with Johnson/Truss for being a useless, incompetent, embarrassing mess.
