There’s people on benefits doing nothing all day whilst there are pensioners who need help with basic things like shopping or other tasks. I see an opportunity for some to earn their benefits.
I see service men/women struggling moving into civvy street, then I see the police under ‘personed’
I see people having more than two children and expecting the state to pay for them when there’s so much pressure on social services and the nhs.
I see basic necessities of the country like energy, rail service etc making profits for foreign investors whilst the service/costs are paid by ourselves
I see the steel industry collapsing due to lack of investment whilst we continue to import steel from countries with terrible human rights offences.

What about you?
People on benefits who do nothing all day, do you know their circumstances? How about some of them are actually better off on benefits than going to work? Do you know how much childcare costs? How much it costs to get back and two to work? How much it costs a month to eat whilst in work? What does that say about the current state of affairs? They could have child care issues, mental health issues, struggle with day to day basics of living life. Yes, there is people out there who do take the mick, but the is also more to it.

As far as the civil work like the police, nhs, social services(I work with two of them on a daily/weekly basis) yes they are understaff, but that’s because there jobs are hugely underpaid and people aren’t willing to do it for the pay, or put there health/mental health at risk anymore.

I'm rather hoping he gets charged by the police for his lockdown takeaway, and Andy Burnham takes a safe seat and instills the Evertonian values the country needs.
You are a bit behind the curve my friend. He was totally cleared of any wrongdoing and wasn’t charged.

It’s a funny one with Starmer. I’m not a fan, far from it. But a lot of the abuse and complaints about him seem to be very petty to me.

We’ve had the Tory rags trying to belittle him, the lies about him as head of the CPS and Saville, the boring tag, “captain obvious” etc, but what has he actually done wrong? The answer is nothing.

But Labour to me have not really attacked the Tory party as much as they should have done. Yes they’ve pulled Johnson several times in PM’s QT, but he was such an easy target and was always going to screw up, because that’s what he does.

Labour could easily win the next election if they focus on how the Tory party have run the country into the ground. The austerity lies, the covid corruption, the cost of living, the energy crisis, but they really need to up their game and quickly.

Hes Sam Allardyce and is probably going to 1-0 his way in thanks to a Michael Ricketts deflected goal from a long throw.

The one main failing of Starmer, and it is one that could lose him the next election, is to associate himself with most of the heroes of defeat from the right of the party. These are the people who lost in 2010, lost in 2015, lost the leadership election (twice!) to a man from an allotment and then did their absolute best to deliberately lose in 2017 (when they almost lost at losing) and 2019 (when several of them got peerages and other sinecures out of it). They are incompetents, and that incompetence shows through to this day.

Starmer should have binned off all of them.

But still nothing. Have you tried googling an opinion if you’re struggling?

The thing is though mate, I didnt say they were struggling, you did.

FWIW its worth I agree with aspects of what you say, and would certainly like to see improvement. However I can also see that Starmer is going to play things very safely/cautiously to try and benefit from the weakness in the government. Essentially a tactical approach of being beige.

That comes with it's own risks, and I'd prefer a more proactive, radical approach I can see why there is some caution.

I'm happy to give more detail, but that's a bit of a summary. Ineffectual, uninspiring, dull but deceptively effective.

Been thinkin on this for a bit, and it's been a disappointment...

How can the only realistic opposition be so neutral that it has to wait for its enemy to beat itself? The wave that come after the next hopefully not-tory GE are already sharpening their talons, if theres one thing they dont miss is an opportunity to learn, and theyre about to sacrifice another lamb for the long term plunder of pain and suffering for the masses.
I dont know whats best, a snivelling tory-lite that knows the game and can outfox them, or a heroic type prepared to get in the trenches and do the hard yards and be spent by the time he or she crosses the line. Every loss and win appears dictated by them. There is no overall improvement, it seems the only respite is holding them back from pedal-to-the-metal destruction, regardless of how many thousands away from top gear that is.

You have listed things you don't like with no solution/policy that you said you had? V confusing

I know some, I work with people who have very server mental health difficulties who would rather live in the community peacefully minding their own. Many have been ostracized by their local community not because of their mental health because they are seen as doing nothing all day and just claiming benefits.
Once they have enough of disparaging comments or items thrown at the house by the kids whose parent's rumor about "lazy benefit cheats" and dare confront these self-righteous gratifiers, they then become a danger to the community. Not a month goes by when this is not problem.
For all the talk of mental health what a load of old danglers.

People get told they’re [Poor language removed] everyday and treated as a burden by various agencies, it will soon manifest itself upon them.

Why haven't you lot replaced Starmer and all the other ghosts of the Corbyn cabinet yet? I know you took a hiding at the last GE and lost a few dozen seats, but you still have a couple of hundred MPs to choose from. Why are you persisting with idiots like Starmer, Rayner, Lammy and Thornberry?

Liz Truss is the political equivalent of an open goal but Labour doesn't even seem to have a team on the pitch.

Aren't Labour about 15 points up in the polls?
