The Kit Thread - Season 2021/22

All this because the clueless gets at the club let a fans group tell a shirt designer what kit they want, and then the colour was changed somewhere along the way by the club and / or Hummel.

What's that line about a camel being a horse painted by a committee?

We went for "traditional" and ended up with carnage.

Your commitment to a cause could be a positive force for change in the world if you didn’t spend your days looking for another hill to die on in an Everton forum.

The whole timeline of this thing is a joke anyway.

1881 - Black Watch regiment founded.
1881/82 - Everton wear a kit that looked similar so were nicknamed The Black Watch.
1970 - Black Watch regiment in Ireland.
2021 - Irish people (and Dave) raging at a football kit with a history almost a hundred years older than The Troubles.

You left out April 2021. 12 days of riots and violence in Belfast. The trouble and tension still continues up there. One side wear an orange sash. Understandable why people get touchy about it.

But yeah, this is Everton, a football club. Nothing to do with all of that crap. If they confuse Everton for being someway linked to politics they're outraged by, then I don't really understand why they'd follow the club in the first place.

No one here has any idea what you're banging on about.

I can understand why any coincidental associations they may have with the pattern or colour could cause them to feel uncomfortable wearing it.

That’s absolutely fine, and easily remedied by not wearing it and getting on with their lives.

Everton FC's first ever kit, replicated.

I don't see the issues.
