Pretty much as I see it. As TxB says, CB pairing is sorted (for now) with Yobo/Distin and Neville is the obvious choice for RB (unless more business is done). The scramble for the CM places is going to be intriguing. As I said the other night, though, we have a good quality bench now so some of the players who've hitherto walked into the team are going to have exercise patience and show discipline in that respect.

Its a good mix of players that can play in a lot of positions and do a very good job -

Distin - Left Back, Centre back
Heitinga - Right Back, Defensive Mid, Centre Back
Bilyale - Central Midfield, Right and Left Midfield, Attacking Midfield
Neville - Defensive Mid, Right Back, Centre Back
Pienaar - Left and right midfield, central midfield
Cahill - central midfield, attacking midfield, support striker
Jo - Striker, Support Striker
Fellaini - Attacking midfield, Support striker
Arteta - Central Midfield, Right and Left Midfield, Attacking Midfield
Osman - Central Midfield, Right Midfield, Attacking Midfield

And we've got probably 4 centre halves that would be 1st teamers in 90% of teams in the prem - Jags, Yobo, Distin, Heitinga (hopefully). Rock hard that.

It's like having a squad of 50 odd players! You're right, though, the utility of the playing staff is a feature of Everton. That's another reason Moyes takes his time in the window (as well as having to spend wisely with not much cash) - he's constantly having to factor in 'what if a/b/c happens can the player do a job'?

Saves on the wages by having versatile players doesnt it.

Its the equivalent to having six Alan Harpers and five Kevin Richardsons in your squad.

Centre back that can operate as def mid and right back, sounds like what was said about Jags when he arrived.

Let's hope he can cut it in the premiership, if he can, we've made a great signing - I've never been that impressed by him but only seen him in a handful of internationals.

In Moyes we Trust

I just hope for 1 more, but isn't that normal?

Would be great for us to steal the show and sign Defour though.

Nothing wrong with that mate, Id spaff all over the show if we got Defour in. We wont like.

You can hold your head up high for your commendable approach to meltseason mate.

Im just made up its not a massive weaponsoup on here near enough every day for three months now.

as a bit of perspective at this time, michael turner (who is six days older than heitinga, who has no international caps, who has one seasons experience in the pl and who has never played in europe) went for £12 million.

And people thought we got a good deal for Lescott....
