Put Hibbo at centre half FFS! Even though he's [Poor language removed] he wears the shirt with pride...

I know from your previous posts this is sarcasm.

The minimum I expect from an Everton player is that he works hard and wears the shirt with pride.

You don't seem to expect that at all.

I'll let the other posters on here, judge who is right.

Its a matter of opinion rather than who's wrong or right.

I prefer quality players. Can give or take yard dogs who work hard and run about. They dont win you big games IMO

Quality is brilliant, its what everyone wants provided they first work hard and wear the shirt with pride.

Arteta is a quality player. He fits the mould of working hard and knowing what it means. It is not mutually exclusive.

When you allow players who don't work hard, who don't care for the club and want to leave - start every game, it demoralises the other players, damages team spirit and worse still its very rarely successful. The game, before any amount of individual brilliance, is essentially a team game - and you only need one player not pulling his weight to bring the team down.

I think we saw that when Arsenal beat us 7-1.

But you are of a generation that idolises players rather than the club they play for. And consistently apologise for their shortcomings on the grounds that they are ambitious. If Johnny was really that ambitious he would be using football to force a transfer to a 'bigger' club, not his mouth in the media.

Heitinga's a bit of both though isn't he, whatever you think of his attitude off the pitch, he puts as much effort into his game than a player like Hibbert does, no question about it.

But the Arsenal game was more down to Moyes' fault and his handling of that situation as Lescott wasnt the worst player on that pitch in that game. He wasnt on his game and the players werent prepared.

As for players who play if they want a move - Heitinga isnt playing. And also, Heitinga hasnt said he wants to move, he said he's flattered by the interest.

Point being, a lot of Evertonians like to rubbish players no matter if they were of the standard of Messi if they say something they dont like about the club.

Im personally in the camp that if they're putting the performances on the pitch of a high standard and if they player is of top quality, they can say anything they want. See Fabregas for Arsenal.

If we want to be a top club we need top players. Top players have ego's that need rubbing. Otherwise we have Osman's, Hibberts, Distin's etc playing week in week out. And that doesnt push you on.

Have to disagree there Heitinga doesn't put anywhere near the effort inwhich a player of his notoriety should be putting in. For me he isn't worth a carrot. Not at our club anyway. I haven't seen anything that makes me believe he is a fantastic player. He needs to go imo.

Thought he did well today screening us when they were coming forward. Allowed Arteta to be influential - when he wasn't being hacked from behind, that is.

David Moyes has spoken about Johnny Hietinga's verbalised interest in Bayern Munich:

"Maybe his comments came from a bit of disappointment at not starting in the team," the Everton manager said. "But, for me, he hadn't been starting because I didn't think he had regained his focus from the World Cup. You could argue there are a few players that have come back from the World Cup and not got back to form."

"Johnny needed to regain his focus. We gave him as much time off as we could after the final. I think he now realises that there is a big competition for places here and it doesn't matter if you played in the World Cup final for Holland – if you don't play well then we can't start you in the team."

Moyes has discussed the situation with Heitinga and insists there is no lingering problem. "He doesn't accept being out the team but he is the type of character who knows what is right and the way it should be in football," he said. "I told him I didn't think he was playing well and hadn't regained his focus, and in a way he accepted that. He has been coming off in games with cramp, very much like this time last year, so it's maybe something he needs to build up to. That has been pretty noticeable in the games."

For me rather strange that Moyes comes out and makes a public statement on this. Not at all like Moyes really, usually very private over Everton team matters.

Basically saying what I said in this thread previously....the World Cup has affected him.

He'll get back into it and be steaming into people as usual. He's looking more solid as the games go on, just has to get over the little niggles he's picking up.
