It's worrying if the best saves compilation is 3 mins 22 seconds and he doesn't make a save for the first 30 seconds and then in the remaining 3 minutes he fumbles all the shots straight at him, catching them on his second attempt and also needs his defenders to clear off the line a number of times because he's pushed a straight forward shot to the feet of an attacker.

That compilation is Robles making the same mistakes over and over again and getting bailed out by his defence or poor finishing, in short we're up [swear word] creek without a life jacket and the boats taking on water.

I dont get the constant mention of him punching clear instead of catching. This is a pretty common technique of goalkeepers, and many of the best would punch rather than catch. Buffon for example springs to mind.

Having said that, its a moot point if he continually punches as poorly as he did leading up to Newcastles second goal. (even if ultimately it was mainly McGeadys fault).

Still would follow the general rule, even if he is coming in at a crucial moment, that you shouldn´t judge a goalkeeper too harshly based on a few sporadic games. They need time and regular games. Lets see what he does with this opportunity.

What i think its scary when he played for Wigan and they played us in the cup he saved every shot that was coming right at him but now he plays for us he can't save a shot.

Do you agree?
