Just listening to the Jam

Gotta be the one of the best bands ever for me

For all my ( Older) Scouse brothers and sisters on here one of the best Jam Gigs I ever saw was at the Liverpool Royal court

I think it was 1980 - 82 ????

Anyone know how many times the Jam played the Royal Court???

I will never forget the gig I went to it was so full on it was brilliant

The Jam loved playing in Liverpool I think a lot of it was because of the affinity with Wellers political stance and brilliant lyrics and the fact that the scousers were making a stand against Thatcher and all she stood for.

Just listened to in the City now for this is the modern world (y)

My favourite band (along with The Beatles and Oasis). Too young to have ever seen them live but seen Weller (God) a few times and met him and asked a question on xfm :P Absolute legend.

All Mod Cons takes some beating as one of the best British albums.

To be honest, I thought after Sound Affects it went rapidly downhill. Weller seemed to fall for all the brass section nonsense that was knocking about at that point. TransGlobalExpress was a car crash of an album for me.

Great band like, saw them a few times.

Bout 3 times at The Royal Court , Kid .

Mountford Hall was a Scouse Convention , too , btw ...

Outstanding in their day .

Everton Linked - least for me , too .

All Mod Cons was the Soundtrack to !978/79 for me . Many Grounds . Many Away-Days .

Purchased , incidentally , at Crease's County Road , L4 .

Presumably, that would have been after he'd urged everyone to vote Tory in the late seventies. The knob.

Have to agree with you by the time it ended it was smelling bad but when they where good man they where good even though it wasnt my type of music (joy division, sex pistols, the clash where the main staple of my youth) but it was hard to deny they made a couple of brilliant albums the best being sound effects IMO.

not my cup of tea really, but they made a few good tracks, cant take to weller at all along with billy bragg two belters you would never tire of kicking.a few months ago was talking to paul young decent bloke him by the way, anyway my girlfriend is mad on the jam and asked him what he wellar was like along with bowie ect, he just smiled, i siad i thing he looks a jumped up knob, my bird wasnt happy but paul young siad, thats about right he is, ha ha said noddy holder was sound so he was in my good books , told him if he ever met jimmy pursey to tell him he was a tool off me, he was buzzing off me and stayed in are company for a while decent bloke him.
