The "In Defence of Allardyce Thread "

I'm not "pro-Allardyce" for those who need to keep things binary. But I'll always keep an open mind.

One positive in my reading of the data so far is a classic Allardyce trait: he's picked up more points than you would expect given how games went and conceded fewer goals than you would expect given how games went. Both are the opposite of Koeman and Unsworth. In my view that's due to a much better defensive performance than we had earlier in the season.

My personal opinion is also that he's the only one of the three this season to have picked up more points (so far) than I would've expected if asked before each game. Albeit not by much.

Therein lies the main issue fans have had with Allardyce in my view: you wonder how you are going to pick up points but somehow you seem to. And it can be quite unentertaining stuff in the process.

Going forward I don't think we're technically much different to how we were under Koeman and Unsie. Still terrible on the ball through the midfield. All of them have had to cope with this imbalanced squad. But we are less open under Allardyce which means we get forward less and have fewer chances. He needs to bring about a dramatic improvement in attack over the next ten games if he wants the fans to be even partially behind him getting a shot at it next season.

He doesn't derserve to be defended but let's not make this mess any less about the players. I'm all for giving Fat Sam the stick he derserves but I'm absolutely sick and tired of all our problems being laid at the feet of the manager while our useless parasite players get away with it.

In view of the growing stick that our manager has been taking, it`s only fair that those that continue to support him, have a platform to voice their support.

Please keep it civil.

Thank you kindly.

But you're not impartial are you mate?. You've been on the lads case since day 1. Haven't given him a chance to turn things around. Whats he had? 13/14 games?. Thats not enough time to implement his ideas with these players. You need to give him and his little fat scouse mate a chance to work his magic.

I can`t possibly comment in this thread on the grounds of impartiality mate.
