Look at the quality in our team. look what Martinez got out of them last season; then look at the last 7 games worth of performances...if you cant see that these ****s are tanking then I cant help you mate.

There's some senior players who for whatever reason have determined they'll see a manager of Everton FC off. That's what they're in the process of doing. They could give a flying **** about losing games for Evertonians, they are purely self serving individuals who'll do what they see as best for themselves. They want a friendly familiar face in, like they did two summers ago. They're determined to get it now.

If you think they give a flying one about you mate you're sadly mistaken; they'll put the effort in if or when it suits.

Why would they want rid of Martinez? He's a popular guy who wants them to play attractive, attacking football. They say how tactically sharp and positive he is. He tries to improve them technically with ballwork rather than physical training and he's undoubtedly improved the squad by using his powers of persuasion to get Lukaku, Eto'o and Deulofeu to join. He doesn't have his favourites and everyone gets a game. Ferguson was probably promoted to first team coach well before he'd earned it.

We probably have the most tight-knit squad in the Premier League and they're actually too nice. We could do with having a bit more bite. Roberto has given a lot of them their chance and I think that he commands their loyalty.

Who is available and on form for the cup game?
  • Joel, Coleman, Baines and Naismith are definites.
  • Jags (if fit) and Besic are also in. Garbutt has always impressed too.
  • If we have to choose between Distin and Alcaraz then we might as well go for Sylvain because he's left-sided and Jags is more used to playing with him.
  • None of the forwards are particular impressive.
  • I suppose that Mirallas and Barkley are the best creative players that we have available, even if their form is hardly sparkling.
  • Can we accommodate Garbutt, Oviedo and Baines in the same side?
  • I'd prefer not to play Barry if possible.
So, what does that leave us with?

Joel
Coleman Jagielka Distin Garbutt
Besic Baines
Mirallas Barkley Oviedo
Naismith
(Griffiths, Alcaraz, Eto'o, Lukaku, Kone, McGeady, Barry)
Baines would chase after every ball and provide cover for Garbutt. Oviedo played more on the wing than at fullback before he came to us. He might not offer us too much craft but he'll close down his opposite number and help to give us more workrate in the middle of the park. Barkley would be returned to his natural position. And Naismith is happy to play as a striker. It's not too unbalanced and we know that they'd all give us 100%.

As most of the family are hammers I really need a win on Tuesday - I just hope we can nick a win...a performance of note would be ok too...

That's not what many other people are seeing mate. They're playing like a bunch of dossers and standing aside to let the opposition score. And have a read of the Howard comment about Martinez I quoted here yesterday and tell me he has given the manager a chance. Then read what that little snide Garbutt has been tweeting in the last three or four days.

You come to one conclusion: players throwing a manager under the bus. That's what we have here. No senior players have come out public and said anything, because they're a shower of snide cowards who'll just brief the hacks behind the scenes.

Absolutely shameful.

Why are you backing the manager over the majority of the players without any facts?
I get you rate martinez but don't understand your blind loyalty to him.

lol

The irony of that post is that you've just thrown Howard and the senior players under the bus, in your latest desperate attempt to steer the blame for the current situation away from Martinez - with nothing more than your imagination to back it up.

Just looked at Garbutts twitter there is nothing sinde or derogatory on there? Unless he's deleted them.

It's not blind loyalty it's based on very good and weighty evidence. The burden of proof is with you.

You really have no clue who you want if this manager was replaced. Who is it by the way. Some euro material giant no doubt.

If only I could throw them under a bus, it'd be a very ****ing heavy one.

There's nothing at all.

He favourited a tweet from collymore saying that english players should get more of a chance at english clubs and that's it.

Dave is just trying to pretend that the hull performance was thanks to a bunch of players who weren't on the pitch, garbutt, howard, distin, osman and pienaar rather than, you know, the players who were like alcaraz, barry, naismith, kone, besic, lukaku, etc.
