The greatest premier league tragedy is that Guardiola's City never crossed paths with Laudrups Swans

It's not only a footballing tragedy. It transcends that in terms of woe.

Can you imagine it though? Literally it would make the 1pm kick off on Super Sunday as a warm up to the main event at 4; almost worth putting the tv on, and not missing part of it to get your dinner down and/ or get back from the shops in time.

I can just see the sea of white and sky blue half and half scarves. The songs of Swansea (Shirley Bassey number maybe? Who knows, either that or Tom Jones) raining down as the City fans do the Poznan and don't even watch the game. Brilliant. Don't mention those empty seats at the 'Emptihad' lest you annoy the city fans. Would the Swans have had the gold on their kits to make them extra special again? Joey Barton could be a guest pundit to represent City and someone who played for Swansea - if anyone knows anyone, otherwise get in Jamie effing Redknapp. And then we get to see 17 in a row for city with a record 10-0 thrashing.

I'd love to see a regular thread on today's good teams versus distinctly average ones from the past who had a brief whiff of success.

Not for me, the greatest tragedy imho is that one of the private jets that the RS travel on hasn't had a complete and utter mechanical failure while the whole team and a few of their old players who now work in the media were flying somewhere.

This is the Michael Laudrup who has a worse win % as manager of Swansea than Paul Clement?

The Michael Laudrup who led them to the dizzy heights of 9th position in the PL?

You think they would compete with this city side?

Baffled here......

At home around that time we were ultimate pass masters and no one could get the ball off us. We would have 60% possession vs City and Arsenal back then.

I thought back then and still do, even Barcelona would have less of the ball than us at home.
