Not read it but Ive just finished his The First Casualty - no spoilers but there are echoes of stuff. Worth a read.

Ah will have to get onto them then, enjoyed his story telling in Savages.
They are incredible mate. 2 down and halfway through the third.
The force is another one he wrote and its a masterpiece
Book 2 of the Cartel Trilogy by Don Winslow.
Couldn’t put it down, it’s like Narcos Mexico brought to life in print and I’m sure the series is based on these books.
Magnificent book and Winslow is one hell of a writer.
Really enjoyed that...not as much as the first, but still a page turner.
Not as many layers as the first and cliffhanger ending, but still very good.
The books could / would easily be made into films.

I Reread "Headlong" by Michael Frayn about an art historian who things he's found a missing Bruegel in a neighbour's home. Brilliant book full of stupidity and greed
Bought this last night while in drink....weighty old tomb though and looks good.
I've made bigger errors while under the influence.
On an all day drive, can't beat an audio book
Edit; audible ok if you don't mind paying and paying.
Join your local Library, they will have a big ebook section.

Cry Havoc - Simon Mann, it's about Mann who was an Eton educated Army boy who ended up in the SAS and afterwards entered the murky world of private military contractors and in the early 2000's was paid an awful lot of money by no names (the CIA basically) to start a coup against Equatorial Guinea to steal their oil. Did'nt quite go to plan though, the bits i have read are interesting so far, the guy sounds like he really has a few stories to tell.

Really really creepy book and would make a good film.
A young boy let’s a balloon go with his details attached as part of a school project and the respondent wages a sinister campaign of stalking and worse.
Recommended if you like disturbing stuff that gets under your skin.
