Yes - peers can be PM. There is a convention that a PM has to be in the Commons, but this lot hate convention so were they to win but Johnson lost his seat I am 99% sure they'd actually take advantage of the fact he couldn't be questioned in the Commons.

Lord Wedgewood famously renounced his hereditary peerag in order to become Mr. Anthony Wedgewood Benn M.P.

No.

The PM had to be an MP......”First among equals” they call it.

I think the Swinson woman might lose her seat up in Scotland as well.
No they don't. The convention is that it should be an MP, but there is no written constitutional element in the UK that says that it must be a member of parliament.

Alexander Douglas-Home was the Prime Minister as a member of the Lords and it is only precedent that says they should be a serving member of parliament.

However, the Convservative Party states in their rules that their leader must be drawn from parliament, so that adds another element to the debate.

So you'd rather Boris?
Didn't say that mate. I liked him as a mayor and voted for him then. It's like football management your only as good as your bench. Trouble with the Red they all have their own agendas. I've always been a liberal voter but this was a difficult one tbh
