After a few good performances I'm looking at the next few games and I can see us nearing the 7th place we'll be fighting for. Sunderland seem to be falling apart at the moment without a win since beating Arsenal.

So here's the next few games (Running up 'till Feb.)

Brum (Home)
Sunderland (Away)
Burnley (Home)
Arsenal (Away)
Man City (Home)
Sunderland (Home)
Wigan Athletic (Away)

I can see us getting three points against Birmingham this weekend, it won't be pretty but it'll be a win for us.

Sunderland away will be a very good game for the neutrals, but squeaky bum for us as we take them on at Boxing Day. Either a 0-0 draw or a 1-0 win

Burnley at home before January, I feel that Burnley are proper [Poor language removed] away from home so we should get 3 points from it easily.

Arsenal at the Emirates will be a loss but a win in other factors as Arteta and Jagielka might feature at some point.

Man City... the game i've been looking forward to. At Goodison aswell which should make this game alot more interesting. I cant predict this one because there might be a change in management before then but what I can say is that it'll be a bloody good game.

Sunderland at home. Jagielka and Arteta should be on the field from the start now so im going to go for a 2-0 win.

and Wigan Athletic. Should be pretty easy, 3-0 to Everton.

I wish I had your optimism.

I still think we can get 7th place, but more in terms of looking at our last 10 games. Just get what we can until then, though there are plenty of chances over the next 10 or so to pick up maximum points. We may have turned a mini-corner - the proof will come on Sunday. Massive game.

We just can't take anyone for granted. This will be a tight year as most teams have enough quality to stun higher powered opponents.

One point from the relegation zone isn't comforting. So tighen at the back and away we go.(y)

Going a step further and looking at a Feb. that at first glance looks like disaster:

RS (a)
Chelsea (h)
MU (h)
Spurs (a)

We've just recently gotten points off Spurs and Chelsea. We proved last year we can always sting Liverpool, and I feel we can play with ManU too. I think we'll get around 5 points from those four matches. We can beat Spurs and possible get a couple draws against two of the other three. Maybe even 7 points if we can manage two wins and a draw?

Now, I'm not basing this on anything really, just what I'm hoping/feeling ... especially if we've a few players back in the squad.

I'm thinking the same way. Just looks like one of those years where a new injury seems to crop up every match.

Hard to gain the consistency needed to make a climb up the table when there seems to be a constant turnover in players hit by injuries.

Look forward to getting the likes of Arteta and Jagielka back. But how long will it take them to reach full match fitness? With Jags especially, we may be talking months before he reaches the level he was at before injury.

We've still got alot to prove to be honest. We need to beat Birmingham and put on a positive display, it's a must.

i agree unless all the lads are back and find there feet quickly i think its going to be tough with a bit of good fortune we may get sixth.

Another thread started by numb nuts. Number 25 your time is up please think carefully before starting more threads. There are no easy games or guaranteed 3 pointers.

The defence is my concern - inclusive as defending as a team far to many chances being made and scored against us.

We are almost 15 points behind our rivals in Villa City and Spurs at almost half way we would have to do exceptionaly well and they would have to implode for us to be in and around 4-6 which at the mo seems unlikely, we have a stinker of a month in Feb with fixtures.

Never say never though!
