I already said we'd match the wages of Chelsea.

And 20 clubs? Like who? Teams have to qualify for the Champs League first, and he may be settled in England and won't wanna move countries again.

He joins us, and our chances of finishing top 4 increase substantially. As do his claims for a World Cup spot in the summer thanks to his playing all the time.

win-win (only Chelsea lose out with us finishing above them...so that's the tricky bit, if they'd even sell a player like Mata to a rival).

Although I do agree that we can be wasteful in the final third, we are also fairly free scoring this season which I would offer as a counter argument. We must be doing something right.

Miralas also very guilty of this. He either cocks his pass up or shoots lamely.

Our players are young and greedy, Mirallas, Barkley, we need more patient around the box and work hard to make an opening.

The thing is with the final pass is it is usually pulled off by top quality players. IMO you have either got it or you havn't. Sure you can probably get a bit better at it but if you ain't got it your never gonna excell at it. It's why the likes of mata, Schneider, iniesta etc cost top top dollar.

Pienaar has never had it. He's like the best assister of assists. But that final ball off him has always been very hit and miss. Barkley has showed glimpses of being capable but needs 12/18 months before judging how good he will be at it. Mirallas lacks it also, maybe why he was a 5M player not a 15M player. However I'd also say he's more goalscoring attacker than creative midfielder. Osman very much like pienaar. Gibson could very well have it but plays a deeper role in the team, McCarthy I'm not sure yet.

Whilst we can't buy the 20M superstar players were always gonna be a little short of quality at times, it's inevitable IMO.

Said it all along we need to get this type of player In. Barkley is a player like lampard crazy shot likes to drive at defences he doesn't really think about passing forward much . Move Barkley to cm Next to McCarthy and buy a Diego/De Bruyne type player

The final ball is never on because we never have players in the box.
Our midfielders hang back looking for another crabby pass, work it out wide but never get in the box.
Never see McCarthey do it,Even Barkley,our most foreward midfielder never seems to try to get on the end of anything.
We need Cahill back to show em how it's done!

Tbh, I think Barkley's goal against Newcastle was one of my favs purely because we actually scored from a through ball.

Agree about the final pass, very frustrating. Think Barkley is very capable and will improve on this with more games.
