Nonsense, he is the leader of the opposition,he is going to be well paid. He gets a car, of course he does, you use a really weird stick to beat him imo.
Why of course? He did say at the time he would stick to public transport or his bike...but once he saw the gleaming limo his socialist principle melted away. When you get a minute take a look at the Mp's who donated their 2015 rise to charity, the champion of the poor pocketed his while the food bank queues grew longer. As I said earlier he wouldn't know austerity if it said hello and shook his hand.

Think you're argument is with reckless MPs expenses to be honest, it's a bit misdirected too if you're searching for hypocrisy.

Of course Corbyn would take the pay rise – who wouldn't for doing a job with infinitely more responsibility? Moreover, thats not the taxpayer's money. I would imagine that the use of a car would be a matter of security too. You should be challenging those who use our taxes to repave their driveways and get an extensions for their stables.
Expenses is a totally different issue. Labour Mp's taking rises while the rest of the public sector stagnates is more relevant.

Unlike a lot of other mp's he does not have his fingers in other pies (that then influence their decisions). David Miliband for instance, had other business interests at the time of being leader. Corbyn has his basic MP salary and the £48k top up for being LEADER of the opposition. Of all the demons in politics, JC really isnt one to compare.

But,but he's a cult figure,the hero of the Left....Just look at what you posted " a £48k top up"

He is leader of the opposition and paid a lot less than many of his counterparts.

Unlike other, wealthier UK politicians, when he was just a lowly MP, he refused to claim let alone fiddle any expenses and travelled on public transport. He is in a very different position now and earns/travels accordingly, still in a manner similar to tory MP's who are NOT leader of their party.

But what does any of that have to do with his Socialist credentials. He's an affluent man who pontificates about the evils of austerity while pocketing pay rises that are close to the the yearly amount a single person gets in benefits. A.W.Benn reborn.Talks a good one and the cult members are smitten.

So a footballer/career person whatever, moves up the career ladder, they are going to take their pay rise. Look at the pay for heads of charities, homeless charities paying their ceo's more than we pay our leader of the opposition.

It's not him implementing the austerity, he spends his waking hours trying to combat it.

He takes his full eanings - big wow, you can rest assured, if he was premier we would not be thinking about austerity and punishing the poor as we are now.
