After Dyche brought Calvert-Lewin off for Beto whilst moving Keane into a forward position alongside him, yes, I know.
He took DCL off for Beto, maintaining a 4-5-1. Then when McNiel was injured, he moved Keane up, bringing
Branthwaite on. It's literally the only way at that point that it wouldn't have been a negative move. Who else should he have brought on for McNiel? Patterson,
O'brien, Coleman, Armstrong? Virginia?
Had he just brought on
Branthwaite and not pushed Keane forward, we would have been chasing the game and setting out as 5-4-1. That's sounds pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
Now, you can question whether Beto should have replaced DCL or not, but McNiel still might have got injured unless you'd have taken him off for Beto surrendering the middle more than we already had, though I'd suggest removing our most creative outlet as proven by his numbers this season wouldn't be the smartest thing to do when you want a goal.... then what?
Would be interesting to hear people's actual thoughts on pre injury changes, and what they'd change about post injury changes.
