The Fab Four

I'm commenting on Walcotts ability and youre bringing up 5 other players with no bearing on that who dont even play in his position.

Quite a tangent.
It’s not a tangent Zat
The whole basis of all your team selections is based on age not what the players adds to the collective
Walcott at the moment is a far superior players to Lookman , Dowell
Coleman is far superior to Kenny
There are far bigger issues in our squad than Coleman and Walcott that have to addressed first
By the time we are ready to compete for top 4 , at least 2 seasons away then granted Walcott and maybe Coleman will not be good enough but they add the vital component of experience to a side littered with young players

Thats simply not true.

If the first eleven is a priority to be full of 'top 4' quality players then that would be;

Pickford
Digne
Mina (perhaps)
Bernard
Richarlison

= 5 players.

If you add in Sigurdsson + Coleman + Walcott then thats 8 players meaning there would only be 3 players needing to be added which clearly would be a CB + DM + CM.

So, is the club 3 players away from having a 'top 4 quality first 11'?

Quite clearly no...

Is the club able to sign more than 3 players in a window, that would be yes as evidenced in the summer.

Hence, its quite logical to see that there needs to be improvement in more than 3 areas of which Walcott would be the priority to upgrade as hes the weakest attacking player out of Bernard and Richarlison.

Ricarlison’s best position is on the left
He’s playing CF because we have no other decent options
He only played CF for Brazil because of an injury to Rodygo ( sp)
I’m confident Brands is looking for a CF for either Jan or June
As you’ve said yourself Lozano is better off the left where we are well stocked and Henry plays all across the front
I’d be fairly confident Walcott , Coleman and Siggy will all be here next season esp if Brands sticks to his policy of buying younger players

To add 6 players to take us to top 4 would cost upwards of 250 m and that’s not going to happen in one window even if Usmanov rocks up
It’s a long term plan
Top 7/10 this season
Top 6 next
And then see if we can push for top 4
While we will strengthen so will all the other top 6 ( maybe Spurs not so much ) as will Wolves and others
Fulham spent 100 m in the summer and will spend big again
If Gomes and Zouma work out I’d imagine we will try and sign them and that’s upwards of 50 m on those 2 alone

Richarlison also played CF for Brazils youth sides.

Lozano can play either side.
Onyekuru only ever scores from the left.

If Walcott and Coleman are playing at the same level until the end of the season then it will mean weve stood still if theyre in the team next year.

Sigurdsson needs to find another level + consistency.

Has anyone ever said those words in that order about our club before......things are changing fast around here.
The summer window amazed me
We were supposed to be sell to buy
Hadn’t got a pot to urinate in
Had blown our big chance
Pickford would be sold to raise money
Had to get wages down and clear the decks
What happened
We ruined the transfer window spending 40 m on Ricarlison
We bought Mina and Digne
We bought country roads
That’s 100 m right there
Paid a big signing on fee for Bernard and big wages
Paid loan fees for Zouma and Gomes
Turned down 25 m for a young player that can’t get in our first 11
We cleared the decks and got 25 m in
Few loans out
Sold no one of note
When Moshiri took over he said we had a small window of opportunity
I think he meant we had to build on Stones Barkley and Rom before they wanted to leave.
Maybe the approach now is to get all the squad assembled in 2 seasons with players on long contracts and hit the top 4 before the likes of Ricarlison Bernard Mina want to leave
The money is still flowing and I’d be amazed but not shocked to see big money spent in Jan and next June with 5/6 first team players in
I don’t know where the money is coming from but I’ve my suspicions
And all this while we are trying to build a stadium
Looking from the outside it doesn’t add up , well it does if you have a certain line of thinking

I've seen you put this a couple of times now Zat and it just isn't true.

Google "Henry Onyekuru goals" and you'll come up with a couple of 10 minute youtube videos (which is a great watch by the way for anyone who hasn't seen them yet). Whilst it's true he plays most of his football on the left of a front 3, when you see his goals and missed chances I would say that a good 50% of them are from central or even right sided positions.

He is definitely more of a left sided striker than a left midfielder or winger, and drifts inside a lot where he does a lot of his good work. You can tell just by looking at him that he would be comfortable right across the front 3, and he's such a natural finisher I could easily see him in a central position.

One things for certain. He'll be an absolute handful in Marco's system and I for one can't wait to see him in blue next season.

A very astute assessment sir!
Might your 'certain line of thinking' involve a rather rotund Russian business person?

Have you seen him on FIFA and FM though lol

Totally agree with your logic.

I also thought that due to his rapid pace (he looks faster than walcott, easily) he could be effective up front and assumed hed be scoring more freely there (his record though is great).

However, ive been looking at his stats on and off and noticed that whenever hes played at left midfield or left wing he has scored close to a goal a game). However, at left forward, right or centrally i dont think he has ever scored a goal in Belgium or Turkey.

The problem with stats is that you dont see if a player has been switched over during a game for a short period so they may be incorrect.

However...based on the stats available, hes not been effective in assists or goals anywhere but from left midfield/wing.

Just watched a couple of his videos
He’s scarily good
If he can produce that in the PL then we have a player on our hands
