Surely if Richi or others go, even in a possible mist of a takeover mosh isn't going to give over transfer kitty for Frank to play with and then the takeover COULD take a month etc.... so we are near the beginning of the season with no major singings.

Also if he is interested in selling and maybe the Russian backing is nervous at present surely you let it be known and not accept the 1st offer that comes your way unless of course it is an amazing offer (to which this doesn't appear to be by all reports), If you spent 10k on your car the only way you would accept a quick 8k is if you are strapped for cash urgently, otherwise you would sit back and advertise it.
I think that transfer business (in and out) will continue as normal. It's not in anyone's interests to have the squad further depleted because the one thing that will fatally damage any new owner's investment is relegation. Any prospective buyer will want to have the squad strengthened to the maximum extent permitted by FFP to stave off that possibility so I'm sure whatever comes in will be spent accordingly, even before a takeover is complete.

"Whoa. You saying we made £60million from selling a player? That's great. Profit already. We still have enough players for game day right? Cool."

Have to say that was some strategic review, essentially everyone's sacked themselves.
The year is 2092, Everton FC have just completed their strategic review of the club, led by Chairman Bill Kenwright who has been at the lead for 100 years despite, oddly enough, Everton going insolvent 3 times. Sir Kenwright has concluded that the new owners, Lrrr from Omicron Persei 8 should look to sell and he, Sir Kenwright, would magnanimously stay on board for continuities sake.

And "Good times" in between.

We're not valued at £500million as a club and a brand, it's £500mill to pay Moshiri back, then invest another £500million into the stadium. It wipes the personal debt Moshiri has invested.

We're not attractive as a club outside the top 6 now on the field with no assets. We're behind West Ham, Leicester, Wolves, and not too long to say Newcastle.

On the field needs an entire rebuild and investment. But if you've bought the club having already dumped £1billion into it without the global reach of Chelsea, Arsenal, United etc....what's going to happen on the field?
That's not entirely true though. We're absolutely more valuable than Leicester and Wolves, let's not forget that despite recent success they both spent most of the past 20 years in the division below. As for West Ham that's also not true because you can easily see with their investment recerntly that they're valued at around £700m, they're also in only a patch of recent success and outside of that are the definition of a mid table club. They also don't even own their stadium.

If the new owners invest £2b into Everton over the next decade through buying the club, paying for the stadium and transfer and at worst become a regular top 7 club it'll be absolutely worth it and they'll make astronomical profit if they ever want to sell again or else they'll make continued profit by just running the club successfully. There's a reason there's this thing with Everton being a "sleeping giant" team.

We're a big club who've had a really unsuccessful period for 30 years. Obviously pie in the sky stuff at the minute but if new owners came in and Everton ended up winning leagues and cups then there'll be an already established base to say "one of the biggest, most prestigious, successful clubs in England", that matters, especially in the growth of a club. There's a reason that Leicester aren't really considered a big club despite pulling off one of the most impressive feats in sport's history by winning the league, there's a reason why people don't care about City winning the league, why Newcastle's money won't make them a big club over night. They've got nothing to back them up.

This isn't Everton goggles or anything like that, it's just the fact of the matter that if you come in and get us into a momentum of winning trophies then you've effectively gotten a club that is on the same level of Chelsea and Spurs and easily comparable with City and Arsenal all for a fraction of the cost of buying and operating those clubs. Any prospective buyer of a club would be very smart to look at Everton and see that the oppurtunity is absolutely massive, Villa are the only ones that have remotely the same sort of proposition about them but it'd be a much harder task there and the history isn't quite the same there, they also lack a successful rival which is something we unfortunately do not. Whether we like it or not the success of Liverpool is a massive thing for us as it's a real rival and in terms of the "brand" or any nonsense like that it's incredibly important for raising interest, it's another reason why City will never really have that as United consider Liverpool more of a rival than City, whereas both Everton and Liverpool fans agree there's a real rivalry between the clubs.

I know this is a lot to say in reply to what you said but it's something I've thought about a good bit since the news of the takeover has come out, I can't express truly how much I think it could positively effect us as fans as well as the football club as a whole. I think it could be a huge catalyst for success for us, assuming it all works out of course.

Id agree with you if it was 2015/16 pre Moshiri and looking forward.

Now the only thing we have is a new stadium being built being a key reason to be bought.

Our finances, squad, mismanagement has sunk us where heavy investment on and off the field is needed. And one of them has to give and sadly it'll be on the pitch IMO.

There's absolutely a lot of room for growth, especially when the stadium is built, and I continue to believe there is a lot of untapped potential at the club. But in truth being a regular top 7 PL club has never felt further away, let alone that being an "at worst" ambition. We can already see this summer how much the big 6 + Newcastle are putting down just to compete with each other, even a 2 billion investment is barely scratching the surface.

I like the sound of that
Needs to get his barnet cut.
