i have not posted on the subject in about 2 weeks now,the truth is he wont lower his asking price and they cannot believe he wants to make £120 mill plus profit . so there you have it .1 of my good mates was talking to one of wolves directors who told him he cannot believe what kenwright was asking for the club cause no one in there right mind is going to pay it.looks like barry horne was hearing the same thing ,kenwright will take the club to the wall if his price is not met FACT

It makes me laugh to see this thread still growing by the day because Conga's original post was genuine - due diligence was completed, everything was in place, a teary Billy Liar had even said his goodbyes to the manager and players - and then right at the very death he pulled the plug.


The broker was Amanda Staveley.

The company who were commisioned to carry out due diligence in spring 2009 are http://www.grant-thornton.co.uk/deals.aspx who were paid
a six figure sum on completion.

Have a search for Staveley/Everton/Arabs using the above date, that should give you the answer.

Kenwright was "blamed 100%" for the collapse of this deal.



I could give you the names of the partner, director and manager of Grant Thornton who actually carried out the DD. Also, the name of the advisor
to Amanda Staveley whom I have this first hand information from - but for obvious reasons (one being I gave my word) it is not as simple as
it would seem.

Anyway, I know it was an 'Arab group' with very serious money who had had an earlier interest in a takeover when Kirkby was still 'a goer' (not that it ever was!!) and if you add it all together to the timing of Conga's original post you would seemingly get:

Daneli is a good feller and in my experience has been spot on in everything he's said. Very sober and professional. I'd hesitate to believe he's not 100% right again on the Kenwright deal scuppering episode.

So BK 'luurrves' the Club but is hanging out for an inflated paycheque. Yet any buyer foolish enough to pay his asking price would have much less left over to invest in the Club, and let's face it that's what's badly needed.

What is it the philosphers say: love is giving without expecting anything in return. Bill saying he loves the Club is increasingly sounding like a load of hype. Bill loves his wallet more than the Club. It's not even as if he needs 150m at his age anyway, what's he going to do with it?

I reckon it's still on in the sense that the search 24/7 is always on and the mythical three to four interested parties Kenwright always has on the go are going to be there offering 'unrealistic' offers for shares and not shaping up like 'appropriate' stewards for the club.

As for Moyes jumping ship - forget it. Where's he going to go and get £3M per year? His job is to be Bill's best friend in the club. Him and Bill backslapping each other all the way down the Premier League to a 'creditable' mid-table finish, 'punching above their weight' and cheered on by sun tan Bob who's always 'absolutely' certain that everything is being done to keep the club a tight and well run ship.

I think you're being unfair on Moyes. It would be unprofessional of him to criticise the Board (his employers) in public. Also, regardless of what we on this forum think, Moyes is still highly regarded amongst his peers, so he would have little difficulty walking into another job.

I agree with this.

I think Moyes is about the 5th highest paid manager in the country , iam not so sure he's regarded as high as to walk in one of the so called big clubs , Chelsea employed the most inexperienced manager out of all the big clubs and even he won 4 trophies in one season first ,

It's all ok that he doesn't come out ****ging the chairman after 10 years of been giving next to nothing to spend on transfers as long as in dreadful times like we're in now he can't blame anyone but himself , you can't say things like " where going into a gun fight with a knife but then in the same sentence say Bill Kenwright is the best chairman for this club , because someone somewhere is telling porkies. Everyone knows in football if you go three seasons without signing a player over a million your going to struggle whether your Colchester or Bayern Munich it's not rocket science, there maybe a team who goes a season without signing and does well but in the main all the best teams around Europe are the ones who've invested heavily in the playing squad , but if Moyes continues to back Kenwright when the inevitable struggles happen he must take the blame on the chin unfortunately
