... and that is one of the most enraging things about this. The vast majority of the British political journalist corps were mates with him, used him as a source over decades and have largely looked positively on him and others of a similar ilk (Johnson for one) who they have deigned to say are acceptable despite knowing they have a cloud of corruption about them.

In fact Starmer's treatment of him (Mandelson) since this was revealed is probably one of the reasons why Starmer is getting slated so much; the idea that a politician can face criminal consequences is not one that lot want a precedent setting for.
