the england thread for non the england fans

I actually get this reasoning but I don't fully understand the direction of hate, I am only an honorary scouser, however, the active nature of the hate towards the national team is a bit too strong, in some cases. That is, of course only my opinion and, again of course, you are entitled to direct your hate wherever you feel is best.

If 11 scouse blues played for England, managed by a scouse blue, would that make it different rather than hating a bunch of guys (and I assume women as I guess you actively hate the womens team as well, not forgetting the cricket/rugby/etc.) that have zero affiliation to what happened added to the fact that none of the players were even born then.

Would a general apathy, for the above reasons, not be better for the soul?
The association with BNP/EDL doesn’t help.

I don’t hate. I just don’t give a monkeys. I’d rather watch them cut the grass at Goodison than any international football.

It is mainly the football I dislike and mainly because of the ridiculously jingoistic media coverage which panders to the racist elements of the support.

Nope, they beat Germany in a knockout tournament for the first time since 66! It was a very big deal for all of us who have suffered through every tournament disappointment against Germany since 1990! Would you not celebrate if your team (whoever they are) had done the same?
I don't understand how Everton fans who support an English team can have such detestation for England and the English themselves.
It’s easy to be honest

So why are you in this thread commenting and making snide comments. That is not the behaviour of somebody who doesn't give a monkeys, it is the behaviour of somebody who does give a monkeys. Maybe it is a strong dislike rather than hate?

Also, what association? Are you saying because a few fans have right wing views that they are suddenly an official partner of the national team. I am absolutely positive that there will be a relative percentage of Everton fans who have or have had affiliations with those two disgusting groups and/or similar ones, does that give you food for thought as to start 'not giving a monkeys' about Everton?

I don't remember Rashford saying he was a member of any of these groups, or Southgate, Sancho, Pickford, Maguire, etc. etc.

I fully accept that people don't support the national side but some of the reasons are very tenuous. Must be much easier to not actually comment than try to justify snide comments with stuff like the above.

That would because the elite of England once decided to “actively manage the decline” of the city of Liverpool.
Wait are you English? Or do you hate England because of what our English government did to one city in England? And what on earth does that have to do with English people and the English football team?

I'm indifferent to the England team, don't actively want them to lose and don't care if they win, international football doesn't interest me, it's like watching a Charlton v Coventry game, it's something to watch but your not bothered by who wins

To cite racism as a reason for being prejudiced against our national team and country when we have a mixed race team and one of the nicest (many say too nice) managers in the game is crazy. It is the same irrationality and hatred that drives the racists themselves. It’s socially acceptable to hate the English and declare it on a public forum full of English people but the same people will claim they are outraged by discrimination! Everton is an English team and Liverpool an English city. It makes no sense!

This is the truest thing I’ve ever read on here, and people will NOT like hearing it.

Not really. I revel in disliking English people. I am an English national FYI. But I self-flaggelate daily in self loathing. Sorry world. Sorry all non-English people for being subjected to us. Sorry English people, you can't help your accident of birth. Sorry. *sobs*

Well said mate.

Thing is, probably close to half the posters on here aren't English, and as we know, everybody hates the English, especially when it comes to sport.

As regards the English though, I think it's become edgy to dislike the national team. Plus, over the years, a lot of the players have been absolute tools and easy to dislike.

Not this lot though. Full of young exciting talent and nice kids too. Hope they do well.
