The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

I have finally found my Skyrim replacement:

It's basically Skyrim + Fable / WoW.

And it's awesome.

Unrelated to this, but has anyone else played God Of War 3?

I know it's been out a while but me and my old housemate play it when he's freed by his mrs, and we've nearly finished it now.

It's ace. Not really my cup of tea this time if fantasy stuff, but it's so violent i like it. We just slashed up Hades in hell. Was ace.

It's got monsters with huge jebs in too.

I think I downloaded the demo of Kingdoms of Amalur and then completely forgot to try it.

Willl get on to that some point this weekend!

It's not perfect but for a first effort there's a lot to like.

The big plus points are the copious amounts of delicious loot, the slick, multi-faceted combat and the lack of rigid class structures.

Combat-wise it's similar to Fable in that you can mix swords, magic and long-range weapons. But it's a fair bit more intricate and has more to it than that. It's also very satisfying.

And by class structure I mean you can mix it up, so you may end up being a sneaky mage or a magic warrior. You can pick and choose what elements of the standard warrior, rogue and mage class types you want.

I'm a rough riding cowboy mate. Spit tobacco and enter saloons to slap a few tough lids around.

You're wearing tights, pretending you're an elf with magic potions firing bows and arrows at wizards.

I mean, come on really.

Giddy up chicolid. I spy a dastardly delinquent on the horizon in need of a whipping. Yee haw.

Hahaha. Well played Meisy.

Anywho, check it out. It's a lot of fun and different enough to Skyrim to make it worthwhile. It doesn't have the depth or freedom of the Elder Scrolls series but it makes up for that with the fun and actually functional combat.

Bit further in now and it gets more and more jizzerific.

The combat is really fun and for someone who doesn't usually like hack 'n' slashing enemies, I'm getting a bit of a pixel bloodlust thing going on.

If anyone else has finished Skyrim and is looking to plug the hole with something other than a social life or sexual intercourse, then this is what I'd recommend.
