Remember how England's golden generation turned out?

Shouldn't be making such bold predictions on something's that's not likely to happen, just heaps on needless pressure and more expectation to the fans.

Big these kids up in private, tell them how good they can be but I fear he's making himself look foolish unfortunately.

If I wanted to watch world class players I'd follow Barcelona, happy to stick with the not bad but not quite there players thank you very much.

Do people actually watch the video clips or just take their cue from the post previously? What he said was in the context of Mason Holgate joining the " golden generation we feel we have." Hardly the vast over hype people would have you believe.

the imbecile will still have barry in the team at 48, doesn't matter how much you invest in youth, until a manager has the balls to use it we won't benefit, took him an age to play stones last season, while those two club footed oafs were dicking around at center back

I can only assume this is a joke

@catcherintherye

would be best placed to answer this thread.

....or people could go through the youth thread and read his posts to save him/her the work haha

maybe martinez has gone OTT, maybe the confidence he breeds will produce it. It does seem promising imo, but they're all still young. you can have all the talent in the world, going and performing in stadiums of 40, 50 and 60+ thousand requires more than just ability though.

time will tell.

Our so-called golden generation will be ruined by impatient, ignorant morons who think that it great players just spawn into brilliance at 20. The sort of booboys who's family haven't discovered fire yet.
Unless my memory is playing tricks Fowler and Owen from up the road, for example, were at their best at about that age.

Following Roberto's mention of Holgate becoming part of Everton's Golden Generation, I thought I'd ask who we all think about that, and who the EGG will eventually consist of?

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking of Stanek, Browning, Coleman, Stones, Holgate, Henen, McAleny, Ledston etc.

Hopefully Johnboy will see past Chelsea's billions and want to be part of it.

Thoughts?

Your of ur rocker if u think the names on that list will be our golden generation . Mclaeny is like what 22? And has barely featured for a poor Everton side with little competition in his place. The truth is we will be lucky if one of them become solid prem players (outside stones n coleman)
