This is the perfect opportunity to show how fed up the fans are.

Imagine if they only sold a handful of tickets for this ?

Just don't go.

When did we as a fan base become such cry arses?!

Yes, it's been a bad season - more so given the increased expectation/optimism but end of season events should happen no matter what - otherwise, what is the criteria?!

There will be beer, and Everton. Nobody is forcing you to go.
Rewarding failure, mate. When your squad has an average wage of about 70k a week and your board has to desperately bring in a relegation specialist in November to keep them in the top division, that deserves absolutely no recognition whatsoever. The Christmas do was rightfully cancelled and so should this one be.

They should do an online voting poll for the various awards, season ticket holders only eligible to vote and just present the awards behind the scenes and record it for Everton TV.

The players ought to be ashamed of their performances this season.

Rewarding failure, mate.

Is it, or is the fanbase being self entitled?

What is failure and what is success and what criteria fits to allow for an end of season event?

Not to mention these awards;

  • Young Player of the Season
  • Players' Player of the Season
  • Under-23 Player of the Season
  • the Chairman’s Blueblood Award
  • the Ladies Player of the Season,
  • the Howard Kendall Award
  • the Fan of the Year.
  • A former player will also be inducted into the Club's Hall of Fame and named as the latest Everton Giant.

That's premier league football.

The football players "Christmas do" was postponed until end of season.

We're still very likely to finish 7th/Europa football, which not so long ago was heralded as magnificent 7th and we were releasing DVDs.

You either have an end of season event, or you dont. You don't change it season by season based on invisible criteria.

It was cancelled once to save dignity amid significant protests with more planned targeting the event/Roberto Martinez. I agreed with that - not now and talk of it is self entitled nonsense.

I am sure the players were given a target to achieve this season! And they've dreadfully failed on that count. Their awful performances have cost the club millions of pounds and they should not be allowed a night in the spotlight to receive so-called awards for the season they've failed so miserably in.

That's a good point, which is why I'd not invite the first team and have their awards done behind closed doors. The season has been a disgrace and it would be a great way to show them it will not be tolerated. By all means film the first team awards elsewhere, and invite all other deserving teams (23s, Women's, etc) to a ceremony.

The Blueblood Award ffs. No doubt Kenwright will award it to himself on account of his services to Everton.

We won't finish 7th - not on the back of the two upcoming bummings we're going to receive! After the Liverpool game tools will well and truly be downed and the players will mentally be on their summer holidays.

I'd cancel it, all I am saying Sir. But I fully respect your arguments for not wanting it cancelled, and obviously it won't be cancelled.

Let's also have an award for the eleven players who participated in the game which ended in the loudest level of booing from the fans. Should be hot competition for that award.

Also not to forget the 'Biggest Coward' award which, if you believe the rumours, will be strongly contested between Ashley Williams for his cowardly red card to get him out of a bunch of potentially crucial six-pointers recently, and Morgan Schneiderlin for generally walking around the pitch turning his back and jogging off without even breaking into a sweat.

relegation is based on the number of points won over a season. The 3 teams with the lowest ampunt of points get relegated. I don't think pr is a factor
celebrating poor performances and a poor season is a loser mentality that will be transferred into the mentality of the players

over time the players will learn to accept that being a loser is acceptable and losing is ok

this will translate into defeats

this will translate into relegation

it all adds up eventually

It's basically telling the players: "Don't worry abour your performances this season, you've done well and you'll rightfully be celebrated at the end of the campaign. We'll even charge the fans to watch you pick up your well-deserved awards."

..Oumar Niasse deserves consideration. I was one of the sceptics but he was like a breath of fresh air with his attitude when he came into a struggling team. Fair play to him.
