Nothing to lose by giving him a go although I thought Davies had the slightly better cameo in the final stages against City. I hope Gueye is back but even if he is I'd play one of Baningime or Davies with him and Rooney (despite his dreadful performance against City). I think Rooney has to play because he is one of our only players that can find difficult passes and I think Walcott in behind Robinson on the counter is one of our only outballs. Not expecting much from the match but we need to compete in centre midfield otherwise a carbon copy repeat of what happened against City will happen again.
Defo agree with that. If Colelman gets up alongside him and Tosun is lively we could cause them some trouble on the break.

Tbh, I'd be happy if we were down to 5 players on the pitch at HT with the highest red card total ever, and Liverpool have used all their subs up replacing injured players and have to play on with nine men. Then use the last 45 minutes get 5 more carried off.

I think they call the game when you're down to 6 players Dave. So game over before half? I could be on board.

I too agree Davies and Baningime. However will Allardyce trust them? Some say he likes experienced players because he has a large database of ProZone stats on them and so feels more secure in what to expect from them. The young players are an unknown relatively in this regard.

I'd be happy if three reds went on salah ,canniggia v Cameroon style

If Schneiderturd plays, I will be furious. Sam should know better by now.

If he`s anywhere near the team sheet, it shows that Allardyce has deemed the game to be "unwinnable " and rolled over again.

Same with Williams.

If either of them start on Saturday, he should be given the bullet, straight after the game.

This game has now become the only meaningful game, in this disgrace of season.

Just said in the Rooney thread, we need legs in Midfield for this one. Agree with the comments above that Gana, Davies and Benigime are the best bets in the squad at the moment.

But as already pointed out I'd be amazed if BFS is anything but conservative in his team selection. "Big game, experienced heads, proven performers etc...".

Others may disagree because it is the Derby and they would want to avoid a hiding, but in general the senior midfield combinations have been absolutely rubbish and failed to turn up in many games (never mind the big ones) this season. So there's little to suggest they'll offer anything different on Saturday. So why not be radical and roll the dice?
